Bloody heck! This is literally 5 mins walk for me!!! If you need anything doing them let me know!
I've got a rather sweet Geddy lee and some other bits I could bring along ! -
Hi Guys
Advice please! We have finally been given some money to replace our aged school pa.....has anyone got any suggestions as to a good value replacement with some degree of longevity?! We don't need mics and could use our existing speaker stands. Needs to be loud enough for school discos etc and budget up to about £800-£1000
Any help or opinions really appreciated.
Thanks
Matt -
Is this still available? Are you interested in any trades at all? Thanks, Matt

In another one of his/her listings, he's selling a 'Fender' guitar for £45. It's a Sunn Mustang. This appears to be one of the later ones, not the early ones which are more desirable. Like the 'Hofner' s/he seems to want to emphasise the word Fender' in the listing title, and the unwary could be fooled if they don't look/research properly.

Looking at the kind of thing she/he is selling, they suggest to me someone who should know what they are doing. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Guitars-/3858/m.html?item=121248890132&pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item1c3aff3d14&_ssn=tantrumjohn&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc

So....are we to think he really didn't know what it was?......or was he trying to pull a full on sh1tbag manoeuvre ?

Yep you are right - mine wasn't cheap and I had to get a NOS fretted neck for it too! I'm now lucky enough to have the parts to renovate a second one. I actually have three spare Marathon 6 string bass necks to work with; one fretless (my original), one NOS oil finished and one NOS just sealed and sanded. I think these were the last available. I love the sound of chords on the Marathon 6 - and the Fender VI for that matter, great through a Copicat echo.

A fretless 6?! Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans! I salute you sir! Can't even imagine trying to play that. Any sound clips? Bet it sounds fantastic! -

Are you taking the mick...... I'm being deadly serious. It's an approved method used by master bodgers the world throughout.

Thread ontology. That is a deeper question altogether.

That's just made my tiny brain explode! I'll be off 😁 -

Stand down, Basschat eBay forum police. I'm not in the least upset about it being over-priced. As has been said, people are entitled to list items on eBay at whatever price they want. Just as other people are entitled to comment about it in a bass guitar forum related to eBay listings.

Stood down ! -
Woah...easy! ...I'm not commenting on the price at all. I just wonder why you'd sell something that clearly has a lot of sentimental value. Ultimately it's nothing to do with me...it was just a comment not a judgement.
-
If it's got that much sentimental value then
Why sell it?..... -

Using an optical micrometer I measured the angle of incidence created by the shadow of the strings on the fretboard. I then divided this by the number of frets illustrated giving me a sloping gradient of .2ml/inch, this of course is not accounting for error of parallax which would possibly increase or decrease the factor depending on the viewing angle. 🍰

Ah....splendid! I thought it looked a gnats cock away from being level....maybe the nut needed filing down and some wholly inappropriate pickup sticking in it.......hold on....you don't know my guitar restoring mate do you?....his names mark......???😁 -
How can you tell from the photos that the necks possibly warped? Not disputing it at all....just that I'm buggered if I can tell! I need your expert advices!!

Someone like it there is now 1 bid

Don't worry-I've called for medical assistance. Clearly the bidder isn't at all well!! -

Sorry - I wasn't really having a pop, but I couldn't resist in the context of the thread!

No worries 😁
You were right! Really ought to proof read my posts in future 😆

Apologies! I should indeed have used 'fewer errors' as the errors themselves are countable.
If the 'devil may care' remark was aimed at me then I assure you that this is certainly not the case. I made a genuine mistake-albeit ironically, given the topic-as opposed to the truly awful eBay advert!
In the meantime.....I'll get my coat! -
Not too sure what's wrong with this one?....

Yeah, no worries .

Well coincidentally...they have recently done a very similar guide for a chap from 'cleartone guitars'....he needed a guide to turning perfectly acceptable 7 string guitars into utterly butchered monstrosities !.....😁

Think I'm going to have a punt on this...quick bit of research needed first though!
