1. Hello,

I am offering bass guitar lessons at a very competative price to anyone interested in learning the basic, a bit more theory or just brushing up on their technique. I am completely CRB checked with a PGCE teaching qualification in Music and have professional equipment which my students are able to use. I will cover a range of different subjects dependant on my students needs from Technique, Theory, Style Practice to Grades or Learning songs.
I will often help my students with song writing practice when they are finding creating parts hard or even just getting around the idea of writing a song on the bass, as its a bit different to most instruments.

Whatever your needs may be I would love to teach you and I offer my first lesson absolutely FREE! So its got to be worth a try, I do both 30 minute and 1 hour lessons as often as you would like/can afford.

Stuff About Me: (You don't have to read it and I don't like writing it but some people like to know this stuff)

My name is Gary and I am a 23 year old who specialises in Bass guitar but I have a range of experience playing both electric and classical guitar also. I have had a wealth of experience doing session work all over the country, this includes working at studios such as J&J with Jim Barr (Portishead) and in St Georges Hall (famous for acoustic records of many artists). I have also had the opportunity to learn from a large group of talented musicians such as Billy Sheehan (Mr Big), Nathan Watts (Stevie Wonder), Lemmy (Motorhead), Laurence Cottle (Eric Clapton/Black Sabbath) and Andy Lewis (Paul Weller) at the Brighton Institute for Modern Music. During all of this time I have been working in touring bands working throughout the country gigging with bands such as Saffron Monkey, The Gossip, Deaf Havana, Coheed and Cambria and Gary Moore to name a few. I have gigged in Cornwall and Devon since starting and have played in almost all of the venues in the area, including the bigger ones such as the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth, Truro Hall for Cornwall and Plymouth Pavilions.

2. Hi,
I was just digging around and found a load of stuff that I dont need anymore or have neglected to use so thought I would see if any of you guys want them!!

Tanglewood Strat type guitar - really more like a musicman silhouette but all single coil!! its a great guitar to play could probably do with some new pickups!! tangelwood make some great guitars for the price and really high quality!! low price due to the fact that it has some major cracking in the paint around the back strap pin!! (shown in last picture) This is however a amazingly playable guitar and well worth £100

Bass Guitar body - musicman pickup routing but more curvey body shape! this is a really nice body which I havnt had the time to do anything with, it has a slanted neck pocket which is harder to find necks for but a few instruments use this shape so its not impossible!! £60

Strat with tri-humbucker routing - I believe this use to be a strat atleast it has had the top horn cut shorter sort of like a telecaster with a slant on the back like a jag or jazz bass (not done by me might I add!!) £20

2 swift humbuckers - these are really great sounding humbuckers for the price and well worth fitting into a new build!! Never been fitted basically brand new!! £20

Guitar Tremolo system with springs (strat type) £20

Unboard Guitar distortion pot - This has been fitted to a guitar but still in great condition!! Has multiple forms of distortion built in and fits in as a replacement for the tone pot!! £10

Squier Jazz Bass - In a sparkly blue colour!! was bought by my girlfriend about a year ago and hasnt been touched since!! this is a really nice bass for the money and basicalyl brand new!! I think these go for about £200 new so I will take £120 for it!!

Crocodile skin Tolex - This is a really high quality tolex with a snakeskin/crocodile skin colouring to it!! I just have a load of spare stuff which I have left from covering a friends amp!! Ill measure it up and stuff but its really high quality and should be enough to do a small amp or head I would imagine!! I'll take £30 for it!!

I dunno if anyone is wanting any of this but give me a shout if you are!! Ill try and get some photos up for this stuff soon!!!

Im looking for a maple strat neck from a squire or fender so open for trades if anyone has a nice one hanging around!!

Cheers

3. I got fairly big sound anyway as I just want to fill out the sound spectrum further.

But I may just try out some of the weird more dominant effects as well just to mix things up a bit!!

I think Im just gonna try to figure out the korg multi effects we have kicking around and see what I can do!!

Im still thinking a reverb or delay could sound really cool with a few of my bass lines where I dont have accompaniment so I have arranged to steal my guitarists to try it out!! Defiantly gonna give a octave pedal a try out though!!

Cheers

4.
You can still be a purist with a VT bass - you're still going bass -> amp, just that your amp is a modeled one!
Ah this is true I guess!! lol It just gives that little bit more drive than my amp can!!

Yeah I have looked at and tried the multi effects modules but in my experience of playing with other people's gear they just sound a bit shoddy!! lol but probably a good idea to choose which effects I want to buy!!

I hadn't thought about a octaver either!! That would make sence now we have lost a guitarist!!

Maybe Ill seek out a second hand multi-effects I think my guitarist may have one of those korg ones but we could never figure out how to use the thing!! lol

5. Hello,
So I have been quite the traditionalist and kept away from pedals for a long time....but...I just bout a bass VT and it is awsome!! and on top of that My band is dropping down to a 4 piece so I need to fill out the sound a bit more!!

Any one got suggestions for pedals I NEED and just generally cool pedals that don't over dominate my tone (I was thinking maybe delay or reverb? Im not sure) so any suggestions would be helpful as I don't have a clue with this stuff!! lol just preferably nothing over £100 would be good!! lol

Cheers

6. Yeah I know its quite a nice deep metallic blue actually!! for the price I think they are worth it even if you end up stripping everything out its still a really cheap body and neck!! lol but even the stock stuff isnt that bad really!! Especially not for a beginner!!

Knocked down the price a bit!! Check it!!

7. This is a Ibanez RG350DXZ which is in mint condition I just took it to a guitar shop and they said the tremolo is great This guitar sounds amazing for the price and is one of the most versatile instruments I have owned
It comes with everything including:
- Guitar
- Ibanez Floyd Rose Tremolo and bar
- Original manual
- Ritter Case
- Dunlope clip off strap lock

This guitar with all of these parts would cost in excess of £390 The guitar alone costs £350 at gear4music:

http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...uitar-White/6S5

These are really great guitars and the only reason I am selling it is because I dont get along with the tremolo bridges.
I am looking for around £200 for this as its in good condition and sounds great and I want something with a fixed bridge!! I would also be interested in trade offers plus cash for a fixed bridge semi-hollow body guitar or telecaster if you would prefer.

Thank you,
Gary

8. Hello,
You guys know the deal with these they are playable and with a bit of modifying can sound decent too!!

This one is the cheapest option they do I believe, but its only about 6 months old or so and never really been played!! It's my girlfriends and she is now saving up for another horse and I don't really need it!! lol Everything is working fine and there isn't anything wrong with the paint as you can see in the pictures!!

Here is what the website says about them:

http://www.squierguitars.com/products/sear...rtno=0310760506

The RRP on these things is like £250 (but I think they are going for £190) so considering that its just sat in a room for 6 months so asking £110

We are located in Portsmouth and would prefer pick up if possible but I commute to Brighton most days of the week so I can always bring it up in that direction if required!!

Cheers
