1. The Musicians Union are working with the Beer Company this year for many of the big festivals. If you are willing to work 6 hours behind the bar each day of the festival then you get free entry, travel and food for the weekend. Cool huh? I'm all booked up and ready to go. There aren't a whole load of bands on the bill that I want to see but it will be a cool experience nonetheless.

Anyone else involved in this? Or is anyone just going to reading anyway?

    :)

  2. Hello!

For sale is my double bass bow I bought a little while ago and haven't really used. I bought it for my EUB but it has sat in its cardboard tube for a few months.

I apologise for the rubbish photo quality, thats HTC Wildfire for you ...

It's ideal for beginners, rosin will be included. £35 plus P+P Will be posted in the cardboard tube. I can also meet up in London to deliver.

    Any questions please ask,

    Dave

  3. Hello!

Here is my Studio Projects condenser microphone for sale. (sorry about the poor photos, I can take better ones if requested)

It sounds great for vocals and acoustic instruments. You can hear the quality of this mic on the recordings I have on my myspace page.

    Check out http://www.myspace.com/dave-holden

I am only selling this because I have recently upgraded and don't need it anymore. The mic has a pattern switch and a low cut to remove any low frequencies. The mic is fairly old with some light wear on the casing.

It comes with a shock mount and hard case. £90 ONO and postage will be around £7 or you can collect from London.

    Any questions please ask :)

    Thanks, Dave

  4. Hey folks,

Here is my Nathan East NE-1 Parametric EQ up for sale. They don't make these babies anymore so grab it while you still can :)

    Here's some yamaha info...

Developed by Yamaha over a decade ago for Nathan East, this "magic box" has helped him to achieve his signature sound with such artists as Eric Clapton, Elton John, Michael Jackson and the FourPlay. The NE-1 is a fully parametric equalizer designed to shape the mid-range of a bass's total spectrum. Three "Q" shape patterns allow you to apply creative and corrective equalization.

I'm looking for £40 ONO plus postage or I live in NW London and we can meet somewhere.

It's a great little tool but I'm just not using it anymore. There are a few marks on either side but the nice and shiny silver face is untouched.

    Any questions please ask :)

    Thanks,

    Dave

  5. A massive bump! I have just bought 2 new basses and could really do with eating next month, and paying rent for that matter :)

Bass can also be collected from Plymouth in a few weeks time if so desired :)

    Cheers

    Dave

  7.
Interesting, what's the string spacing?

It's really easy to measure, just take a ruler to the strings, and measure from the centre of one string to the next - do this at the bridge (for the bridge spacing - the most often quoted), at the nut (for the nut spacing) and at the 12th fret (this spacing can be worked out from the other two, but most of us don't have the formulae or charts from which this might be deduced.

God luck, I'm sure you'll find a home for it.

Btw, how is your Stagg EUB for bowing?

And is the intonation regular up the fingerboard?
Hey!

The EUB playing is going well, I have a cheap bow which is okay but I don't really practice it enough to make a decent sound.

On the 6 string bass side of the things...the string spacing at the 12th fret and bridge end is 19mm and at the nut it is 10mm.

I hope all is well your end :)

  8.
Bump!

Good luck with the sale man.

Dave is a top bloke, you should definately all buy this bass from him! :)
Cheers Jamie,

If they all bought it, then they would have to share it like a community bass....hmmmm....you could be on to something :)
