Tonkin2 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Hi guys, I'm really interested in recreating this tone for a tribute vids. I remember seeing some pictures of his boards on his story around 2024 before but wasn't fast enough to take a pic, does anybody have a better screenshots from the old ones or actual pedalboard he's using on tour right now? It'd be great if you guys have some info involving it! Thank You! Quote

HoorayForAnonyms Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Thats the best picture I've been able to find and I became slightly obsessed with searching through photos of his live sets. There is a very recent tv performance on the Steve Colbert show where you can see he is still using the EBS DPhaser along with the Moog MF-101 and Digitech Whammy. With the settings for the MF-101, he varies the sound a lot both live and on the recorded versions. The actual settings he favours for the MF-101 will sound different if another person copied them since things like a player's attack, the output of the bass etc. will have an impact on how the envelope responds. I've dialled it in by ear but he tends to favour high drive for a dirty sound with a high resonance and lower frequency on the MF-101. The picture of the EBS Dphaser clearly shows the rate and depth but again he varies his settings a lot. The EBS DPhaser in the picture is set to the Long mode which is an 8-stage setting which makes up a big part of that sound. The Moog MF-103 he used previously was a 6-stage phaser but I think any 6-8 stage phaser - analogue or digital - will get you his sound with the right rate and depth! Hope that helps! Look forward to your video. 😀 Edited 2 hours ago by HoorayForAnonyms Quote
