DG Harmonic Booster to feed Overdrive Pedal?

I'm looking at using the Darkglass Harmonic Booster to add more mid bite to my overdrive sound, currently use a Rodenberg LDP Deluxe in the HPF loop of a Sine Effects X24 Crossover. 

Mainly I'd use it with my Rick in a Rock Covers Trio and my Spector 5 in a funk project. I'm trying to get more mids as the Rodenberg only has controls for treble and "deep" switch, I had thought about trying to use a Plexi drive pedal instead.

I run the Rodenberg and the X24 at 18V if that is helpful to know. 

Anyone used it as like a gain stage or to add further EQ in front of a drive pedal? I'd be very interested in experiences and examples.
