For sale and possible trade: Fender Jazz Bass USA 1976, ash body, maple neck, pearl blocks, white binding.

A bridge and bridge pickup cover of the same era have been fitted - not the originals but perfectly in keeping with the bass.

Body finished in transparent blonde - refinished by Marty Bell in 1999 (one of the best refinishers, he uses thinner lacquers so the sound could be better than with the original thick lacquer).

Pickups are Seymour Duncan SJB1 from the 90's and the electronics are original.

There is a small crack on the neck near the first fret, no impact on the playability, the neck is stable and the truss rod adjusts freely.

The action is medium/low with a little bit of fret buzz here and there as expected on an instrument of this vintage. The playing is comfortable. I have had the bass set up and fretstoned at the Gallery in Camden.

Weight - 3,8 kg - 8,4 lb - very light for a jazz of this era.

Sound/playing sample - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czz_alDSRbI&feature=youtu.be

Bass is located in Woodbridge, Suffolk but I often travel for gigs so could potentially meet elsewhere.

This is not an original collectors piece due to the refinish and replacement parts. However, it is a great player and an absolute beauty to behold and truly deserves to be played.

Offering for sale or trade because I fancy something a little more modern - Sadowsky, Mike Lull, Fender CS etc. - try me!

Any prospective buyer is very welcome to come over and try the bass out. Alternatively I am happy to ship within the EU.

Happy to include an old hardcase (non-original), Dunlop straploks and nice leather strap for the asking price.

Many thanks,

Jonathan
