nugget Posted June 27, 2015 Share Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) SWR 220 head for SOLD I've been using this as a backup for pub rock band where its been plenty loud enough for a heavy hitting drummer and 2 rock guitarists, dont let the 220watts put you off. I've also been using it for all my double bass gigs where it really has excelled. Recently it has started to squeal at high volumes (fine at moderate volumes), a high pitch whistle, i though it was the preamp valve so i put a new one in but its still doing the same thing so it's being sold clearly for spares or repairs. I've had it for years now and it's a superb amp, very very flexible tone and until now been totally reliable so well worth fixing it up i just havent got time to do it. The amp itself is a bit tatty around the case but all knobs and sliders work perfectly.
