5thread
Need a bit of help I'm fitting some mother of pearl fret dots on my bass. I've got the dots but having problems tracking down an 8mm forstner drill bit. I've looked on the usual ebay, and on the net. I've found one place but they want £20 plus p&p which i think is a bit steep considering you can buy 6 in a set for £12 Any help please guys. lettsguitars
You just need a regular lip and spur bit.
5thread
Okay Thanks I'll look that up. Got the forstner idea after watching some luthier in the states on U tube. I'll give it a try cheers bud
brensabre79
lip and spur bit is what comes in pretty much any multi-bit drill set as a wood bit I think, its got a spike in the middle. So a trip to Wickes, B&Q or your favourite local hardware store will do the trick...
lettsguitars
Innit. A couple of quid youth. Forstner bit are nice but lip and spur is pretty normal. Fast drill speed and enter the wood very slowly.
