Budgetneil Posted December 30, 2012 Share Posted December 30, 2012 Hi chaps - I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a problem I've just noticed. I've got a Ashdown 220 Dual Tube combo that is producing a mains type buzz/hum at all times. It gets louder when the master volume is turned up even when the amp is muted but none of the other controls affect it at all. It also does it regardless of whether anything is plugged in so basses, cables and stomp boxes can't be the problem. Anybody else experienced similar? Thanks in anticipation! Budgetneil Posted January 7, 2013 Author Share Posted January 7, 2013 Just for a bit of closure I'd thought I'd put it out there that I got this sorted. I considered taking back to the shop but got in touch with Ashdown tech support first who responded within a few hours suggesting it sounded like a dodgy valve. Another question or two later (also answered very promptly) and they'd advised me how to get into the amp to change the valve and also accurately predicted which of the two was duff.
