Putting cloth on top of metal grille - what to use?

I'm wanting to customise my amp and one easy way of doing this would be to make some kind of DIY speaker cloth with the band's name and logo on it.

The combo has a metal grille screwed on, so I don't see it being a hard job to unscrew this and attach the cloth over the top. However, I don't want to use anything that might cause the sound to be muffled or distorted or (worse) cause the thing to overheat.

Any suggestions?

You need to be careful that the cloth doesn't flap on the grill.

I made a set of home hi-fi speakers one time and put cloth over the grill.
At volume it would sound like a long, loud, fart over the top of the music...... seriously!
