Have a look at the "AC1 rhythm Vox Bass", works off batteries or mains. I use one for practice and is handy having the built in drum machine.

Yep, another vote for number 1.

The first 55 seconds were really good. It 'tailed off' somewhat after that...

Enjoyed the start, making notes to check the band out on u-tube, then Darth Vader's dad started ..................... rip page off pad and bin. -
If you have a chance have a go on a Vintage (make) "Jaco" icon series jazz bass, bat well above their price, got one myself a it's a keeper. Come up on the bay s/h now and again usually £150.00 ish.

Same as above, had a set put on my jazz about 3 years ago and have had no problems at all.

If it was 1972 it was probably the Demons and Wizards album , with Gary Thain ( the late, great ) on bass. Is the track your on about Easy Livin?
Edit spelling, cannot spell bloody "easy" -
Done. Good luck.
-
THe late Gary Thain (Uriah Heep). I was a big Heep fan (still am) his playing was very so melodic and it just fitted the song a treat, I said I could do that, I'm still trying too.

Done, good luck.

All this talk about picks will drive the bloody price up. I will never be able to own a blue pick now.

Vintage Icon VJ96 fretless, superb for just over £200, even less used.

+1 got one myself, great value for the money. I even use it at gigs. -
Mine crackles when you move it.
-
Another +1 for Guy Pratt, also the Glen Hughes autobiograhy is available from Amazon, had a quick flick through it, but not allowed to have it until Christmas day.

I'm a jazz musician. What's applause?
If your a jazz musician we better start by telling you what an audience is. -
I have put them on my bass about a year ago and they do work, got them off e-bay only £2 or £3 if I remember correctly. The first ones I put on did not last long before they came off, so I gave the next ones 3 or 4 coats of clear nail varnish and they are still on and working.

I applied for an audition from the musicans wanted board at the local music shop about 2 years ago, and I am still playing with them. There are always a few bands looking musicans etc on the board, might be worth having a look round the local music shops.
Just over an hour ago, the postman delivered my wage slip, and to my delight, I have been given a £1,200 bonus which I was not expecting.
I know that I should put it away for a rainy day, but I'm gassing like mad, even though I really don't need any more basses.Maybe I should just put another "bitsa" together on the cheap, and put the rest away.
What do you think guys/gals?
By the way, the missus doesn't know yet, should I tell her?
Help please!
Pull yourself together man.... you can never have enought bass's. tut -
