Hello everyone
I've been a long time member, but, I dont think I ever really said hello.
I have played bass for around 35 years. A big fan of Mick Karn, Brown Mark and Stuart Marrow to name a few.
My go to basses are a 6 string Ibanez BTB846V and an old Tanglewood Canyon 1, however, I've got a trip planned to visit Bass Direct tomorrow to try, and hopefully purchase a Sandberg 5 string.
I play bass in a band called "The Radio Makers", we play original material influenced by the likes of Bowie, Numan, Psychedelic Furs, Glam and the 80s and have played some decent support slots (Toyah, Blockheads, Big Country, Quireboyz) and have got gigs coming up with Gene Loves Jezebel and, in a few weeks (E)XTC.
Cheers!!

Hello
I'm currently in a newly formed 80's covers band, playing more interesting tunes than most other bands of a similar ilk.
I played funk for a long while, before laying off the bass to concentrate on other things for several years. However, about a year ago I got the bug again and am enjoy my bass playing more than ever.
Main bass playing influences are :
Mick Karn (Japan)
Pino Palidino (Session)
Mark Brown (the Revolution)
Stuart Morrow (New Model Army)
My current gear :
Spector 6 string fretted
Traben choas core 5 fretted
Viinatge babinga 4 string fretted
Line6 400w combo
Zoom B1x multi effects
I'm currently looking for a nice fretless. Also on the future shopping : an electro-acoustic and an 8 string.
In the past I have had (amoungst things)
Aria Rickenbacker copy
Aria 5 string fretted
Columbus fretless jazz copy
2 * Hohner Jack 4 string fretted
Marlin Sidewinder
Tanglewood rebel 4 string fretted
One day I will get the WAL I've always promised myself.
