I have had basses sucessfully sent to the the UK/Europe for far, far less and received in fine condition. No idea where you got your shipping estimate from, probably the most I have ever seen by leaps. It's possible I could have an instrument taken to europe and shipped from there.

Gear wise, loads to see and admire, but mcgraham's Wood & Tronics 5 was just awesome, as was Alex's Barefaced 2x12 - very GAS-worthy indeed!...anyway, more on that later.
