I would personally compare Skylines to Fender USA, and Lakland USA to Fender Custom Shop.
I have never liked any Fender more than the Skylines I've played. -

New pic update. Remember, you can't get this exact model anymore! The flame maple top and Mike Pope preamp and Lane Poor pickups are upgrades that cost over $1000 extra. Luckily the model I have had those features as the standard model so you get it all for free:D
