Here's another one - a Dead End FX PCB: the Laika Fuzz. (Check out Dead End FX, they've got taste and offer PCBs of rather unobtainable pedals.)
That was my most ambitious build so far, I'm still in my first year of building, and everything went pretty smoothly. I didn't mess up drilling and most important: it worked right away and sounds fantastic!
Super cool! Dead End FX PCB has got really cool stuff, wish I had more time to build
My mate recorded clips of my two builds. They are very long, so it's probably clever to skip a bit

Excellent! I like quality kits myself and Percolator is something I always wanted to try. But I do like Shellac a lot

I've tried once or twice :) But these are unbranded plain black boxes, with no resale value. I usually give them away or sell cheap to my friends or friends' friends. Good thing is that folks do really gig with them and use on recordings, which makes me happy 😊

These are stock Rangemaster values - I will send you PW in the evening with details.
Rangemaster was supposed to slam your amp with huge output as an always on effect, so it wasn't really a matter of transistor's gain that much, but interaction with an amp. Today pretty no one uses it that way, so I find it super cool to have a touch of grit from transistor itself from the start. With 9V I like 145-155 hfe, but it has to be low-noise transistor!

At the end of the day it's just a box you stomp on with your dirty boot :)
Here are another two older boxes.
Full freq Rangamaster with high gain CV3007 (mil spec OC44), so it gets dirty from the start. Of course it works great with tube amps, but it gives new life to solid state amps, imo. As it has beautiful high end zing I used to set the amps flat, with just a booster on as my main "eq/preamp".
I am a huge fan of germanium FF, but even well tuned FF might be too much on bass. So I used old clean up trick. The whole FF magic lies in guitar volume knob, but I don't see any bassplayer willing to actually use it. So I put pregain instad of fuzz control (which is fixed at max).
It sounds like this: https://bitchcraftband.bandcamp.com/
My mate used Rick into Hiwatt, with FF in between, to record all basslines.

Thanks!
Battery drawer is made by Bulgin model BX0023 - I usually get them from evilBay. The only problem I have, is that I use a hand drill and a file to cut the enclosure for it, so imagine how much time consuming work it is
For smaller boxes I use these: https://www.banzaimusic.com/Keystone-VERT-30-battery-holder.html and mount them with rivets.

I guess you all know what it does
Brand NEW with box. £140 shipped within EU. -
GGG Brassmaster. Love these things!

Thanks! It's a OC75/OC43/OC75 combo. This circuit is pretty elastic. I usually pick Q1 and Q2 for low noise and Q3 for the tone. I'll be soon building few with different transistors.
I've got some CV5712's, which are supposed to be OC71's, and I'll be using them in Q1 for Tone Bender MkI builds. -
Ha, it's a clone of extremely rare british fuzz box made between 1966-1968. Its history isn't clear, but what we know for sure is that Robert Fripp used one on early King Crimson records.

Buzzaround!

Thanks! 4700pF and 100nF caps with 100K pot.

Simple but effective. Still need to build me Brassmaster though...

I'm sort of oldschool when it comes to dirt boxes and always though about using two classic things with bass. First is Rangie style germanium booster with range control to boost not only treble, but also mids and bass. Second is modified Fuzz Face - fuzz fixed at maxed, and instead of fuzz control, there is a pre-gain control to mimic rolling down your guitar's volume knob. Of course it cuts bass a bit, but still works great even in heavy mix.

Super cool! I always wanted one and this might be a real deal, not like Mad Professor one.

Once it took 5 weeks for my pedal to arrive from US to EU, as it went to Australia first

And another GGG Brassmaster. This time deluxe version.
