1. ok feedback from last nights pub gig - ran the head with a 212 and a 210 on top (standard config) played at a smidge over 1pm on the master volume. sounded fine and some of the regulars in the audience said the bass cut through ok (one of the guys is a sound engineer by trade anyway) so im a happy chap.

the only thing i would recommend is to either put the amp on some sort of foam / carpet if you're putting it on top of the stack to stop any vibration going into the amp from the speakers.. either that or just pop it on a side table..

  2. Changed rig (again  !!) so my mint Hartke 410XL series is up for sale..

    £140 inc speakon-Jack cable

will upload some pics tomorrow but it really is in superb condition and has only been used a few times since i bought it a few years ago.

built like a tank, 4 10" Ally cones and 400W of trouser-wobbling goodness. its an 8 ohm cab.

collection from Windsor in Berkshire or i could meet somewhere up to 50 miles from windsor.

could also be picked up from my partner's house in Norfolk (Near Dereham) if thats any better ?

    cheers

    Iain

  3. im running one with a RS212 and a RS210 - sounds absolutely brilliant to me. loaded up the tube drive toneprint with no loss in volume. we have a LOUD drummer and 2 guitarists and a singer that belts out as well - was running at under half on the volume knob and it sounded so sweet with my Jazz/Status neck combo... didnt seem to be struggling at all

will be gigging the setup on 17th so will report back after - im not expecting it to be lacking in cutting through the mic

  4. Hi all, just picked up a TC BH250 head (lovely little thing !) and ive got a Hartke XL410 to run it through.

the question i have is the XL410 is a 8 ohm cab with 2 jacks - 1 input and 1 'extension'

does anyone know if the 'extension' is a parallel output ? ideally i want to run a couple of 8 ohm cabs off the one speakon jack on the back of the BH250 head (yes its only got the one speaker output) to give me a nice 4 ohm load total.

my concern is that plugging another 8 ohm cab into the 'extension' on the back of the hartke is just going to result in a 16 ohm series load...

    thoughts ??

infact, does anyone know how to get a parallel config if you only have 1 speaker out on the amp head ?

  5.
You know what as a long time bassworlder (chatter now) things like this really hurt me. I have had nothing ever but total utter dependability on here my 1st transaction through bassworld was a swap and a guy just sent me his bass through the post with me having sent nothing to him at all, just total trust, and id hate this place to end up full of 'new guys' (usually a good thing) or 'one offs' just taking the doodah. This is such a warm and unique community, id hate to loose it.
    Loves to you all! (aaah!)
Cheers mate - well its not bassworld's fault - we weren't to know this guy would conduct himself as he does when he joined so my faith in the site remains.

ive bought other stuff from here and this is the very first time ive ever had any sort of issue. all the other things ive bought (bass or amp or effects) have been nothing but pleasureable experiences.

anyway, ive just got to get a setup and strings and maybe some paint to cover up the worst of the chips and then i can try to enjoy it. I wouldnt try and sell it on to anyone else here as i'd just be passing on the problem knowingly and thats not my desire at all.

just try and make the best of it i think.

anyway, thanks to everyone for the kind words - really makes a difference y'know :)

    Iain

  6. my view guys is that he isnt someone i'd ever trust again. ive had nothing but trouble from him but you make your own minds up on canning his other posts.

and the suggestion on stopping ads till they have been here a while is excellent.

the other bass i bought from a guy on here was superb - a wonderful bloke and transaction - its just this one thats been a world of hurt due to the guy misleading me on pretty much eveything.

  7. Sorry tale this one.

Bought a 2005 USA Precision, described as "GREAT CONDITION!" from the basses for sale section from user MELFASO. i paid the guy via paypal and as soon as he ACCEPTED my payment he dissapeared for a week without responding to any messages to chase up where the bass was and when i could expect it to be delivered. in the end he didnt give any particular reason for dissapearing and only (i suspect) contacted me due to the fact that i lodged a paypal claim against his ID for non-delivery and contact.

He reluctantly agreed to refund me but told me that in the time he's been away he'd moved my money to his bank account and bought another bass with it !!! :) ;)

he then said i'd probably have to wait till he got paid on 25th Jan (25 days after i'd paid him) to give me my money back. in the end, i couldnt wait this long as i didnt have a bass and reluctantly agreed for him to send me this one. after all the crap i'd heard i thought i'd have more chance of getting a GREAT CONDITION Bass than ever seeing my money again.

i wish i'd held out for the refund........ ;)

All i can say is NEVER buy from this joker - the bass finally arrived today and i wish it hadnt. ;)

he simply posted it parcelforce in its fender case with an address label on the outside and a couple of bits of brown tape over 2 of the latches. WTF !!!! didnt even bother trying to protect the case with even brown paper... bear in mind this had to come from BELFAST to Windsor !!!!!!!!!!

    RIDICULOUS ;)

the bass itself has a ruddy great chip off the wood near the neck join and the pickups are misaligned - the tone knob fell off as i took it out of the case and well the rest needs a good setup. ;) its got buckle rash on the back and scratches on the top and bottom. the upper pickup was lodged down and i had to remove it to clean off a lot of what looked like congealed cola on the screws (at least i HOPE to god it was cola! - yuk!!!)

I knew is should have checked more for decent pics before i paid this guy but i didnt - its my fault i know :D but all i can hope for is the old saying "what goes around comes around" and im sure he'll get his one day.

so - watch yourselves with this bloke and dont make the same mistake as i have by going anywhere near him.

i feel totally gutted and p'd off with myself for being so foolish as to trust him.

  8.
ouch, this could be nasty

i'll stick with this bass as ive got a £500 investment in it now but i reckon ive well overpaid for it

    i feel gutted -

  9. Sean - been trying to contact you through your email addresses but no joy. thought i'd try on here to get hold of you in case your spam filters are stopping my emails coming through

ive sent the paypal payment for the bass and delivery as agreed - can you drop me a line to let me know you've got the payment ok and also when you're sending it out to me ?

if you now dont want to sell, its no biggie - just refund my payment to me and that'll be fine - no hard feelings

    cheers,

    Iain

  11.
If i knew this was going to come up for a trade we might have had a deal with my Jazz Deluxe! how's that working out for you?

    R.

PS. great guy to deal with if anyones thinking of buying/trading.
Hiya mate !! yes the JD is working great thanks - love the tone and its my main gigging bass now.

I reckon i might keep the lakky till xmas and then put it on the 'bay to sell as nothing seems to be shifting on here right now. the lakky is just sat in its hardcase now and wont get used to be honest. its a lovely bass but 5 string isnt my thing

  12.
I have bought and sold a few things on Basschat recently so thought it was worth having a feedback page now.

If I have bought anything from you or sold you anything I would appreciate the feedback.
    Cheers R.
Top bloke is our Dave - The bass i bought off him is totally stunning condition - well setup and a joy to play.

Cheers dave for the deal - hope the 5 string playing comes along over the coming months !
