2. I bought a dozen of these things from a local ubrew place seeing as Grolsch doesn't seem to use them any more.
Cost about $2 and they work great.

(The Ram's Head muff is sold)

All prices OBO, shipped N. America, bit more elsewhere

4. The Jumbo Tone Bender is great on bass -- it's very much like a muff but minus a gain stage and you do get a bit of clean bleedthrough so no bottom end loss.
Someone mentioned the Meathead? That's a good un, but the Zeke is great (clean blend).
I like the old Maestro FZ-1 though and the Tone Bender MkI.
Shin-ei FY-2 is ... interesting. So's the Super-Fuzz

5. This guy has a lot of nice reviews of various different compressors.

I like the Markbass Compressore on bass, but the Diamond bass Comp is also really good.

6. Check out the Sonic VI Champion Fuzz Unit -- lcone of the B&M / Colorsound Jumbo, which is almost a muff.

7. Well, you want a DAM Ezekiel, but you're not going to get one -- no longer made, expensive if you can find one, and I just sold mine anyway.
You need something with a blend pot -- or put your dirt in a blended looper. Something like the Colorsound Jumbo Tonebender would work as it lets some of your clean signal through.
There's a dud in Texas who builds a very nice clone -- Sonic VI. In fact there's one of his on talkbass as of last night. If you're in the UK, it up Ian Sherwen/Happy Robot/Ghost and he'll build you something cool.

8.
I know someone who would be interested. Would you recommend this to an overenthusiastic 15 year old metalhead who just wants GAIN up the arse?
THat's the definition of that pedal :) He'll love it...
Free bump

9. Maestro Brassmaster! Or the Malekko Barker Assmaster.
Jim Roth (from Built to Spill) builds a nice clone too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PrgyyTcnDo

EDIT: Just found a B:Assmaster: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=660356

No affiliation / not mine

10.
Thats a really early SB too if im not mistaken? it doesnt have the scrolling on the headstock
1977 Aria Pr II SB700. Got it for GBP150 from a classified ad in the paper some time around 1985.
What a sound.

11.
So that's £675USD, or £415 you're asking for this distortion pedal, is that right?

Why doesn't this one have the cool bible / Pulp Fiction quotes on it?
Different version is all -- same pedal, different screen I guess.
Price in USD...keep it simple (I'm in Canada).
I still wish he'd done a custom run Ezekiel 23:19 :)
