  1. Hi everyone, I’m new to BassChat and recently started learning bass on a Yamaha TRBX174. I’ve been practicing at home for a few months and want to improve my finger strength, speed, and timing, but I’m not sure the best way to structure my practice sessions. I’d love to get advice from more experienced players on: Finger exercises: Which drills helped you develop finger independence and strength as a beginner? Timing practice: How do you effectively practice with a metronome without getting frustrated? Practice structure: Should I focus on short technique exercises, scales, or playing along with simple songs in the early stages? Progress tips: Are there any “must-learn” exercises or routines that accelerated your early improvement? I’d appreciate any tips, routines, or examples you could share — even short practice schedules. Looking forward to learning from your experience! Thanks in advance! among us
  2. Hi everyone, I’m Laura, new here and still finding my way around the bass. I started playing a few months ago on a [model of your bass, e.g., Yamaha TRBX174], mainly practicing at home and trying to build solid fundamentals. At the moment, I’m a bit unsure about how to structure my practice time. Sometimes I end up just running through random exercises or playing along with songs I like, but I feel I’m not improving as efficiently as I could. So I’d love to hear from you: How do you structure your daily or weekly practice routines? Do you focus more on scales, technique, or full songs when starting out? Are there any “must-learn” exercises or tips that really helped you in the early stages? I really appreciate any advice or stories you’re willing to share. Excited to be part of this community and learn from experienced players here! Thanks, Laura Woods Granny Game
