I'll see if I can muster up the courage

Welllll I work in Antwerp and I'm familiar with Axl Peleman, but a beginner contacting Axl Peleman for these issues feels like a beginner boxer contacting Mike Tyson for sparring 😅
-
It's Scott's Bass Lessons, but yes, the guy's not gonna correct me in real time
-
The issue persists when I don't put the finger right on the fret but slightly behind it, so I suppose it's the way I let it go. The concern may stem from the fact that beginner courses don't seem to address this VID_20250813_234612.mp4

It's when I lift my finger off after playing the string. playing an open string no longer rattles. Also, I already did the credit card trick and the frets were even. Guess I'll just see it go away when I get better then

the issue that started this thread is now resolved, but a minor, related one remains: When playing the E string with my middle finger on the third fret, I can't really lift my finger without getting major rattling on the third fret itself. This is the case with all frets on the E string. THe A issue doesn't suffer as severely from it. My guess is that it's just a question of technique? and because the E string is such a big lump of metal? Anyways, the guy in the teaching videos doesn't seem to suffer from it xd as for @Hellzero and @JJMotown: it's fine guys, please don't fight about something so trivial

aw shit by now I already followed the diagram and turned clockwise, hope I didn't mess it up and can reverse it without issue
-
So in your diagram loosening is clockwise whereas others said counterclockwise?

finger, trying both soft and hard, buzzing stays thank you for the nice offer, but I'm afraid I can't quite make the trip right now (carless atm)

my dad is a far handier guy than I am, he says he understands the problem and will adjust the truss rod when he gets home 😅 (I really don't trust myself with stuff like that)
-
doing this gives me the little tick at fret 1, but not at fret 3, which I think is the rattling fret
-
My first ever bass guitar (Ibanez GSR200B) just came in, and it came with some significant fret buzz/rattling on the top 4 frets. Possible fixes I've read go from "just give the truss rod nut a quarter turn" to "get some advanced measuring equipent and measure this and this and that" Any idea what kind of measurements these are? I assume it's related to the exact distance between strings and frets, which is specific per fret or sth? In any case, I've already found that all the frets are the same height using a credit card

I drank a few beers for courage and ordered the Ibanez 😁😁

You're right. It was the first of the 2 I tried (using a strap), and something about staring down that sleek neck, those sharp-looking black tuning knobs spread along both sides of the head just made me feel cool yknow :)).

Hi there, I'm an aspiring beginner bass player who's hesitant between picking a Squier Affinity PJ bass or an Ibanez Gio GSR200B. I have tried both at a local store, and I was surprised by just how big and heavy the Squier was (I'm on the skinny side). THe Ibanez felt way better in hand bc of its lower weight and thinner neck, and tbh, I enjoy the look with 2 knobs on each side of the head. I didn't really hear a difference in sound quality, but that's just me. What's holding me back is the fact that people say the Ibanez is "only for rock and metal" and that the Ibanez Gio's often have quality issues like fret buzz and warped necks. Can anyone testify whether or not these complaints are bs in the current year, and help me ove rmy decision fright? Thank you! P.S. The free 3 month subscription to Fender PLay also seems reaaaaaaally nice :))
