Having been lucky enough to share the stage with Steve and studio on many occasions. I was devastated when I got the news from my home town Kendal. I think I was still at school when I first recorded with him at Linden Sounds. Steve was 23 then and obviously brilliant. He was always unassuming and even though most of us were still at school he treated every song we recorded with the utmost respect and his bass playing was mesmerising. A truly brilliant human being and is sorely missed.
