  1. Has anyone tried this pedal with bass? Lots of guitar reviews online, but I cannot find any reviews/demo of this with bass guitar.

I am using a POD X3 atm, primarily for swell and thinking of using this pedal instead....

Incredibly versatile with a great selection of preset amp models, a good selection of quality effects and the ability to fully customise both. Fantastic for recording or live use.
I have owned this for a couple of years and have only gigged it a couple of times.
The Marshall and HiWatt amp models are my favourites - saves lugging huge valve amps around!

Rugged construction, easy to use and reliable.

    From the Line6 website:

The power of Bass POD® xt is now at your feet!
Included are over 50 stompbox, synth, and studio effects, 28 bass amp models, plus 22 cab and 4 mic models.
With its rugged steel construction, Bass PODxt Live™ is ready to take years of real world gig abuse.

Whether you use it as the ultimate multi-effect pedal, a direct recording miracle, a powerhouse preamp, a practice partner, or a creative digital signal processing tool, we think you'll agree that Bass PODxt Live is about the most amazing thing to happen to the electric bass since, well, since the bass amplifier itself!

  5. Now **SOLD** - thanks for all the replies!
Excellent condition EBS HD350 in rack case with two minor faults - easy fix for someone handy with a soldering iron, but not for me.
EBS HD-350 High Definition Bass Head Features:

    100% Solid State Design
    Drive control
    Tube Emulated Drive Control
    Compressor/Limiter
    Powerful 4-band EQ
    Serial and Parallel Effects loop
    Floating balanced XLR output
    Built-in speaker simulator
9 volt EBS Phantom Power System
    Active Intelligent cooling system
    350w pure MOSFET power

    Faults:
    1. When using the phantom power to the input jack, the sound breaks up sometimes. Disabling phantom power to the input jack (via the dip switches on the rear panel) solves this problem completely, so if you do not want to use power from the amp to drive an EBS pedal, this fault will not affect you at all.
    2. With master volume at "0", there is a very quiet distorted sound from the amp while you play the bass guitar. There is no noise when you do not play. Once you increase the volume from "0", the undistorted (normal) bass sound takes over and you cannot hear the distorted sound any more. No effect on playing at normal volume (above "0"....!!!)

This is a quality amp, with great reviews - my band folded at Christmas and I have no immediate plans to play bass in another band soon, so I making some space...!
I mention both faults in detail as I am sure someone will take a look and think "I can live with that", or "I can fix that"...

Selling at bargain price due to faults..........
    £300 to collect from Reading

If you need more photos, I've taken some with my camera phone. You can get them at :

I can't open the pics, are they still there?

  9. Thanks to all for your expert input!
The cij ri '70 sounds like my favourite (just getting used to the acronyms....!) When were they made? Can you buy them in Japan today? In UK you only seem to be able to get the MIA version...
I have a USA Deluxe Precision, but I find I use it mostly on the neck pickup setting - so I want to replace it with a quality p-bass, and then perhaps get another bass for more riffy stuff/funk - maybe a Yamaha TRB1004?
Back to the Precision, a lot of the threads mention that the Japanese importers have been shut down over the last year (Guitar Emporium, etc) - are any still trading...?
