I know there’s “a battlefield commission” but there is a word for it off the battlefield too
Isn't it just "commissioned officer"?

"You can do magic" by America, it's very simple (most of the way through) so suits my skill level, but is just a great groove.

I regularly saw PEN 15 on a Roller driving around Ealing in the 60's.
There was a BL03 JOB on a red Lambo in Essex, which is entirely appropriate in all regards. I believe the DVLA were trying to rescind the plate, but don't know if they ever did.

Unfortunately not got a couple of gigs that weekend - shame just up the road..
That is a shame, good luck with gigs, obviously.

Hi Steve, as a matter of interest, and based on your location - are you going to the Love Supreme festival at the end of June? It looks to have a fantastic line up, very sad that I am going to miss it.

I only started bass the end of last year, but I just got to play Pannonica by Thelonious Monk with my mate who is a jazz pianist and lives down the road. He has not wanted to play piano for a while, but he did suggest it to me as a study piece in January, and we finally got together and did it. We had some wine too. It is a lovely piece with both crotchet and quaver triplets, in C, which doesn't make so much difference to me of course. I have been practicing. I am much moved by the fact that we were able to play together, it is much more intense than casual day-to-day existence, I feel very lucky to have finally found something that I can present to other people.

I did a great deal with Dave on a lovely green Chowny CHB-1. He was very pleasant to do business with, and he gave me some space to try the bass it out without me being intimidated by a real musician. Also threw in the strap as a bonus. Thanks! Jon

Thanks very much Nick, both for the One10 and opening the feedback thread. It was a pleasure doing business with you. I will do my best to give fellow Basschatters the opportunity to add to this thread...

I don't suppose this has a hard case, does it?

I bought a Handbox100 and a mid-eighties Octave OC-2 pedal from Paul and received them a couple of days ago. The gear itself is brilliant, of course, but also it was a pleasure doing business with Paul. He kindly threw in a speaker cable as the ones I ordered were going to be delayed, so I got to set my rig up as soon as I could. Thanks Paul, cheers, Jon

I bought the other Barefaced One10 cab of the pair that Nick had for sale, @thebrig bought the other one, I presume. I asked for Nick to hold it back a couple of weeks for me as I was offshore and he very kindly did so. It arrived this morning, properly packed and is in absolute tip-top condition and sounds brilliant. Thanks very much Nick. Cheers, Jon

Hi Aleksandra, you have come a long way in 6 months, you must already be pleased that you have improved so much!
I am also learning, so I am not an expert, but the thing I notice is that you have fingers in the air above the fretboard when you play. I am doing online lessons and I have been taught to keep my fingers on the fret board. For example - if you are holding down a note with your little finger then the other four fingers should also be holding down the same string, helping out the little finger.

Hi and welcome. Get back into bass, tell us more?
Yes, some expansion would be good.

Ah yes, so it must be non-commissioned officer then? Or is that something else? Like Sergeant Majors and things?
