Substituting different preamp tubes in order to change the characteristics of the amp; 12AU7 for 12AX7, Tungsol for JJ, that sort of thing.

    Yes , correctly .... (N)OS / new ....

I have had the Amp a week now ... Have a gig tomorrow , so have not tried yet ...

  2. I have not had the feeling about loosing topend ... But I have played on diff borrowed amps/speaker until I now have my own ... So maybe better hear when the amps the same before and after .... And also I don't want to much diskant/top in my sound - I play mostly music from 60/70

My new amp/speaker I now have to control 😁07D294B6-D984-4E89-8445-D368E0131E44.thumb.jpeg.86aaa355f3f6e330393aa97d47c760f1.jpeg

Saturday we played the Two Brewers in Chepstow, they mostly bobok blues/rock bands so we go down well there. It was hot so we were outside from 8 to 10 with a strict curfew.

Drank about four pints of lemonade with a dash of lime...

Crowd was a bit less than usual as there was a 'Rock the Castle' event with multiple bands on the same night, but went well. Broke in the new Squier P.

Taking my Performer to a jam tonight, 24 fret fun up the dusty end is anticipated, plus I promised someone I'd do Bad penny with him so was cribbing Gerry MacAvoy's ideas last night 🙂

Hello - I have the same speaker GR Slim , but why have you fixed the amp on the top 🤔

  4. Yes - the Bugera was in rest order at Thoman - not many places to pick up equipment today ( now in store at Thoman ) so I got the LH 1000 used for cheap money ...

One way I like it and it could be a keeper ..... But it have a power delay - and sometimes wait long ....maybe 20 sec before 'click' and then sounds are through ....and then sometimes 1/2 min later sounds are off ....and then come on later again ....and stay on   ( I have got it 5-6 days now )

We have a little gig to'morrow , but I'm not really comfortable with it

The Bugera is in store now so maybe I buy that ..... Really important your equipment is working

  5. Well , were all know that - it's hard to choose but when it's done we're happy .... ( For a while ) 😉

I have first maked I want the Bugera T , but now I'm more rolling to the Hartke LH1000

I'm a oldschool player , don't play slap or metal ... Play , - You know the old stock from when we were young 60-70'ties

One way I like the Hartke ..... It's simple , and the tube sounds is always there without make distortion ....

But maybe the time is passed and now buying the class D and control it anyway ????

After 42 years,  I finally had a reunion with my first band a couple of weeks ago in a studio in Glasgow. The drummer had both knees replaced,  the guitarist with the black Les Paul has Parkinsons and I'm waiting for knee replacements. Didn't work out to bad. A wee bit of  Wishbone  Ash. I only managed to play for an hour and a half due to RA. The session lasted for 6 hours with my mate taking over bass duties.

Wishbone is not bad... A really great band that periode your playing 👍

  7. Hello - been off more than 10 years , and now I'm a substitute in a rockband on borrowed amp speaker
I have played guitar many years and tube is the 'holy grail' ..... But I don't have the same feelings about the bass equipment

So I'm thinking about buy the Bugera ..... I know it's a cheap one ...but many places tell it's a really good amp ....man's I think my speaker will be a GR 212 slim carbon

Some who have experience know-how ???
