1. Met Matt yesterday and was very fortunate enough to buy his Ampeg B-15 from him.

Matt is not only a great guy in general, but also a very experienced and knowledgeable pro-musician who I could happily chat away to for hours.

Thanks very much for a super end to the weekend, Matt - it really was a great pleasure to meet you, and I'll treasure the B-15!

All the best

2. I had the great fortune and pleasure of meeting Sean, and being able to buy his very special, lovely '62 Fiesta Red P-Bass from him.

Sean is really honest, totally genuine in all ways, and I couldn’t have hoped to deal with a better person.

Thank you very much, Sean – I promise that I will treasure the bass, and feel very privileged you decided to sell it to me.

I cannot recommend Sean enough for anyone that has the opportunity to meet and deal with him.

3. Just bought an MXR M82 Bass Envelope pedal from Pablo.

A really great guy to deal with - super comms; packaged up the pedal excellently and posted it really quickly.

All round just the sort of person that makes dealing on BassChat a real pleasure.

Thanks again for everything, Pablo.

4. :) Thanks for that - had seen that one but looking around for a pre-EB one (phase switch & bright switch as opposed to the 5-way selector).

Surprised that the one on fleabay went for that price, though - would have been a good buy for someone.
5. Just bought an Ibanez SR300M + Orange Crush combo off Bob for a friend's daughter to start learning bass on.

Really nice guy to deal with, couldn't have been simpler - great bass & amp.

Thanks again, Bob. Hope the gig goes well tonight.

Cheers

6. Hi everyone.

I've been lucky enough to buy Ian's Warwick Corvette Proline off him.

It was a real pleasure to deal with him - great guy to talk to and he was really super on the sale of the bass. He packed it up amazingly well, also, when it came to shipping it, I don't think it could have been more safely packed unless it was in a lead box!

Definitely someone to deal with with the utmost confidence - all round a top guy.

Cheers

7. Lovely bass - isn't often a Sabre comes up for sale, particularly one that hasn't seen much better days!

Have a bump from me, and best of luck with the sale (If I had the money.....)

What was the original colour of it, by the way? Any idea?

Cheers

8.
what's the weight like on these babies? i could never get my head around this particular shape. doesn't the head go through the floor? is this basically a series 1 with a signature on top. there's an interesting word about sig's on ken smith's site. ya gotta love alembics though. good luck.
Alembics certainly aren't light basses on the whole (some people do have them custom-made a bit lighter than the standard off-the-shelf ones, though). The Series instruments (1 & 2) are very different in sound, and build, to the Signature instruments. The electronics in the Series instruments, alone, are considerably different, they have single-coil pups to start - if you look on the Alembic web-site you can see that to have Series electronics on a bass adds thousands of dollars to the price on its own.

That said - all Alembics are well built top-end basses and the signature models give great sounds and are lovely basses. Someone has picked up a beauty at a great price.

9. Just bought a BOSS NS-2 and a Napalm Loop from Ash.

Perfect person to deal with; great to chat to and really quick to reply to any e-mails; packaged both pedals up really well and posted them off to me very quickly (they arrived the next day).

Couldn't ask for more.
Thanks very, much, Ash. It was a real pleasure.

Cheers

11. Hi everyone.

So - I've just bought my first item from another Basschat member (Matt Denney - "overwater#1") and he kindly suggested I should start up a feedback thread so anyone can share their experiences of talking / dealing with me (all of which I sincerely hope have been very pleasant!!!).

All constructive comments readily welcomed.

Thanks a lot for reading / posting.

12. Hi all.

I have a new 2U Citronic flightcase for sale.

This is a professional flightcase with black panels, aluminium edging, service mount sprung flip catches; comes packaged still in its original bubble wrap and with all the screws / fittings etc... (take a look at http://www.citronic.co.uk/product/171.730UK for the details). I've only taken the case out of the original bubble-wrap bag it comes in to take the photos, and it is now packaged up exactly as new again.

I got this as part of a package deal on a QSC RMX2450 amp that I bought, but I don't really need it as I've a 3U case already that I'm going to use for the amp and my pre-amp (and will be dropping the effects unit from the rack - I've gone back to pedals!) :)

These retail for around £70 as I understand it, so I thought £55 (including postage by Parcelforce to anywhere in the UK) would be fair. I'd sell for less if someone wants to collect from South-West London.

Let me know if you need any more details on this.

Thanks very much
James
