So which are the differences between single on split in a 51 pick up????
I guess the split has more output and changes the vintage tone for a modern one...am I wrong????
thanks -
danke schön,
Ive ruled out the rios and duncans, the antiquities seems to be ok for a vintage sound, and have more output than the rios,
I was thinking about fralins or lollars...and I dunno if barfuss can compete with them... -
Hellooo everyone, Im here looking for a great pick up for 51 p bass...
People talk about rio grande..., duncan antiquities, the great lollars, and a very few of them use to love Fralins in that bass...
Thats what I was wondering to buy but I ve found this web:
http://www.barfuss-pickups.de/page6.php
they are cheaper than the rest and maybe are a great deal...somebody of you know something about them ????
thanks mates -
Hi Guys,
here again with a few doubts, Im reeding about woods... sound, weight, look, etc...
But the thing I do not find is info about which kind of wood works better with pick ups, I mean, I think theres some kinds
where you can tell the difference easily when you change it, and another ones which if you change the pick up for another the sound is almost the same.
And....what makes a bass sound even between notes and strings, the wood??? or the pick up???
Im a bit lost
Thanks again -
squiers are made of basswood body, I think an alder, ash or mahogany body with a rio grande or dundan pick-up should be better......but maybe Im wrong,
what do u think???? -
thanks for your info
Ive talked to Roman from Bach and the company is still running, He has a few stuff on stock and he said they are gonna make a bunch of models out of catalog right now.
In noizewood Italy the guy is selling stuff so I think they are working....
I guess this is not a great bass but maybe with some changes here and there you have a better instrument than a squier or a crappy mexican for the amount...
I just need to know the diff between alder and mahogany woods, if mahogany is the typical of gibson I dont like them for low ends, really muddy for me...I prefer the "twang" of fenders
Thats what Im asking..... -

Ive bought the p51 butterschoch finally,
I just come back from a vintage music shop, they sold hundreds of vintage and modern basses from every single decade....they were amazed about the sound of this bach, for the money kicks a lot of more expensive basses,
good tone, very loud output, not too much feedback, very confortable....so im very glad
Now Im confusing about changing the pick up or not, this one is more than acceptable
