Hi all I am looking for a decent afforable compressor pedal (sub £100) as I have seen plenty of compressors but most going for quite a lot of money , any suggestions

Thank you for the suggestions, ashtray pickup covers sound like a good idea, how to install though , body is made of agathis do you think it will stand up to drilling the holes to mount the ashtrays. Also changing volume and tone knob(s). Have got seymour duncan p , j set so will swap pickups over soon. Also does anybody know if it would be possible to modify a squier for thru body stringing. Any suggestions welcome

You could always try a mustang if you dont get on with the musicmasters sound (similar look, different sound)

I used to own a musicmaster and thought it was awesome. The sound is an aquired taste as sound spectrum is fairly narrow and sound is a little on the muddy side (tone control did nothing). however I loved the sound of mine , sounded nice and warm and had a bit of growl , looks awesome too, is the one bass I wish i had held on to

Hi, excellent flatwound strings for a deep thumpy sound are Rotosound's Tru Bass strings , they are wrapped in a nylon coating and sound awesome, paul mccartney from the beatles used them on abbey road, best flatwounds out there

Try listening to some of these for a good p bass sound

the smiths , rem , The police, The clash, guns n roses,

as you may be able to tell from the above list the p bass is well suited to rock music particularly when played with a pick, it just has that clank to it.

Hi I have a Squire P Bass special that I am looking to funk up a bit, have change pups but am looking to pimp it up a bit in the looks dept, I am into the vintage vibe (as in old stuff not the compnay) , any suggestions
