Earplugs. Happy Birthday to that man. 

Boots the chemist do their own filtered buds for a tenner. I bumped into them when I was looking for some soft ones in Colchester Boots after forgetting to take some along to a Killing Joke gig. Speaking as someone who wears foam ones all night and most of the day at work I found them very good. 

The drummer soundchecking his microphones is the standard one. 

I see your points about stopping playing. The bands at the Rebellion festival would not agree though and most of them are still very good to good enough live. There are some that should stop though agreed. 

Logistics? Unless bilking is legalised I cannot afford this 🙂

Jah Wobble at MK11 venue. Best form I have seen him in and glad it was not too loud as I lost my proper ear plugs and had to wear foam ones.  Shock horror..... He did not use a stage amp. Not one I could see anyhow. The sound was fantastic. Came on at half eight and played till eleven. 

I'm not paying the prices anymore.I might even start gigging again and just watch myself. Going to do my own repairs to everything I own too. No more plumbers, car mechanics, or greedy promoters prices. The Devout will be my next gig. Good value. Fair play to them.

I dare not listen to Rush as I fear locking myself away listening to all the albums and trying to work out all the bass lines.

My experiences I bought a new cab a few years ago rated at 250 Watts and opened it up to find a 150w at 8ohm speaker in it. I phoned the company to ask why such a small speaker and the man on the phone told me that if I blew the speaker he would send me a new one for free. Regards to port sizes I have 2x 15" cabs. I have a Ashdown driver, a Panasonic driver and a Celestion. All work in either cab by my ears. I don't think 15s are very fussy. 

Sorry to hijack but can I see a photo of it. 

Best not buy a practise amp full stop my friend, they are worth peanuts in resale when you realise they are weak also. Save up for a Fender Rumble 40 studio or the Boss110 which are keepers no matter which amp you buy in the future for gigging. 

Boots chemist now do their own brand silicon plug on the shelf which contains a filter for a tenner. They work for me at gigs better than foam plugs which sometimes did not protect fully depending on the band. 

That's what I thought at first. Then I heard it stage front. I don't usually gush about big rigs either as they mostly sound muddy to me. 

If you want a height war then it's all over from Monday evening. Killing joke last night (second date of tour) 

Looks like we have an ex abm user from Monday. This is Martin Glovers rig last night for Killing Joke. OK, I know it's probably rented or loaned and it was through a P.A, but it did cut through the sound (no mean feat) better than his abm rig in a small venue used to. Guy Pratt has been gushing about this rig and he was not exaggerating. Great job Ashdown. 

Killing Joke at Colchester Arts centre 7 th March. Youth has a new amp and speakers, a Ashdown home made thingsy. He is a ABM user normally. Mind you we don't go to see them to hear the difference in amps nor will we be able to. 

I believe you all but the amp seems too good to be true. I have not heard one yet being gigged but look forward to it. 

Looks like I missed the killing joke gig by a year. 

Maybe The Devout in March but for sure Mr Wobble in November and Killing Joke at Wolves. I don't get out much but any venue bigger than Cambs Junction stresses me out which limits me a bit. 

I really like George Harrisons music.
