  1. Warwick Gnome I Pro 280 Watt Bass Amplifier Head. Top of the range model with maximum power output and a USB interface for recording.

    280 W at 4 ohms / 180 W at 8 ohms

This is an amazing little head, only turned on to test it & sounded amazing with a huge amount of power & volume for the size. Small enough to fit in a gigbag pocket, plenty loud enough to gig with. It’s about the size of a paperback book.

Comes as new with all original packaging & 2 power supplies (1 UK, 1 Euro) for tour use etc.

£200 new so grab a bargain at this price! Price includes UK postage.

Selling as I’m not playing bass in a band so is surplus to my requirements (also selling a Barefaced Two10S cab).

  2. Extremely lightweight (approx 13kg) 2x10 bass cab. Sounds absolutely awesome.

As new - amazing condition, only selling as I am not gigging as a bassist and it’s capabilities far exceed my needs at home.

This is the newest model available, switchable impedance between 4 ohms and 12 ohms to allow greater flexibility from your rig for different size gigs, cab configurations etc.

Description from BF website: “As loud, fat and punchy as a good 4x10” but half the size and super light.” which is a good summary in my opinion!

New price is £629 so save £150 without the wait time (which I believe is around 6 weeks) as they are built to order.

Collection very much preferred from Goytre, Monmouthshire. Could potentially drive to meet within a reasonable distance.

I do have the box and original protective packaging if courier is required - buyer to pay courier costs. Cheers 🙂

  3. Bought a Barefaced Two 10 cab from Chris after he responded very promptly to my wanted ad. Very knowledgeable, friendly & helpful, gave me some good comparisons and advice as I wasn’t sure which cab to go for. Cab arrived very quickly, in fantastic condition and sounds amazing. My first purchase through BC and it was a great experience. Could not recommend more highly - an absolute gentleman! 🙂

  4. Hi 👋 Looking to buy a light weight cab with as much output as possible & my tiny mind is boggled!

I play in a blues trio - the drummer has good dynamics and the guitarist plays through a 15 watt valve amp (1x10 combo) & uses fairly light overdrive. I’m using a Warwick Gnome Pro head (280 watts into 4ohms, 200 watts into 8ohms). I intend to go for an 8 ohm cab in case I want to add another cab.

I use the studio’s cab at rehearsals so this will be used for small pub size gigs or as an onstage monitor for bigger gigs & also maybe home practice. I don’t need a tweeter particularly.

Narrowed it down to these (all 400w):

    Eich 112XS - 99db sensitivity

    Markbass 102 Traveler - 101db

Phil Jones C4 - Sensitivity not stated

Also looked into Barefaced but the sensitivity of the cab within my budget - 1x10 -  is quite a bit lower (95db) so I suspect volume would also be noticeably lower?

Looking to keep the weight under 13kg & price under £500 if possible

Any opinions or suggestions much appreciated! 😃

  5. I think a lot of bassists COULD play more complex lines but is it a case of being held back or them choosing to play what the songs needs rather than play for their ego. In fact I think overplaying says a lot more about a player than playing something understated that fit the song. Advanced technical ability and good taste often don’t coexist IMHO. I’m usually not the bassist in my bands so as a singer, I’d much rather work with a bassist with less technical prowess and more restraint and musicality. 🙂

  6. 22 hours ago, police squad said:

i went from a pf-500 (which was dead reliable actually. The first one I bought went wrong but its replacement was perfect)

I then switched to The Ashdown RM500 EVO II. It's superb, I love it and highly recommend it

Ah thank you that’s good to know - I was eyeing up the RM500 EVO II yesterday 😁

  7. Hi 👋 Hoping for some advice please! Need to get my first ‘proper’ small bass rig having only ever needed low power amps for home practice. Im playing bass/lead vocals in a reasonably restrained blues rock power trio (no Animal style drum bashing or guitar to 11!). Have gigged as a guitarist for 20 years but never gigged on bass. Will be small venues or have PA support. As it’s a trio I need to fill a lot of space with the bass! Needs to be as light as possible as I have issues lifting heavy stuff.

I’m on a pretty low budget right now, I would look to upgrade later on. I’m considering an Ashdown Rootmaster cab & the 300 watt OriginAL/Rootmaster head, Ampeg PF350 or Warwick Gnome 280. Running at 8 ohm, adding a second cab when needed. My concern is that the Ashdown guitar amps (& my partners bass amp) back in the day (circa 2006) we’re horrifically unreliable & Ive heard similar about the Ampeg PFs.

TLDR: Has Ashdown reliability improved in recent years? Anyone played a Gnome Pro 280/Ashdown OriginAL 300/Ampeg PF350 to compare? The rehearsal studio amp is an Ampeg PF500 & like the tone.

    Any advice appreciated 🙂
