    defret or trade?

    Hi basschat,
    I've got this bass (MTD Beast 5) that I'm not using much lately and I'd love to get fretless. Question for you, guys, is: Should I get it defretted or rather trade it for "factory" fretless bass?
    That beast is really good, at least now with frets, and I like the sound, although I might prefer a slightly thinner width at nut and/or it could be a hair lighter (it's not heavy, it's just that I'm spoiled by my main Cort/Elrick which is super-light).

    The bass is not mint, but generally it's in really good shape, especially considering its age.

    The other one for sale is '95 Japanese Ibanez 1305PM Custom. Mahogany, padouk sandwich body, wenge neck and fretboard. Black hardware (Gotoh tuners, ibanez bridge), original guts switched for 2x EMG-40DC + EMG BTS electronics, brass nut. Bass was professionally re-fretted 3 years ago. Original Ibanez hard case included. Used, but not abused. Has some scratches, dings, etc. but still very playable and smooth to touch :-)
