What are the recommendations for a small combo amplifier up to £75
Looking for something new that is reliable and sounds good for practicing, I just need something portable I can easily plug in and move to different room.
I’m looking into getting back to some practice as I’ve not been in a band for a few years.many thanks

How important is a bass guitar lead aside from making sure that it sends a reliable signal to the Amp.
Do cables sound different in terms of changing the tone at all.
Is it worthwhile investing in an expensive bass guitar lead.
I have a cheap cable but it's proved to be reliable for a couple of years. I am needing to get another one as my spare is broken. I was thinking of getting a more expensive one this time but are they really worth it. -
Are cheap acoustic basses any good. Seen quite a few under £120 but how playable are they.
How much is needed to be spent to get a decent acoustic bass.
thanks -

FWIW I'm using a Hartke LH500 - clean, warm and LOUD!
I currently have an LH500 and yes is is clean and very clear through the Barefaced Compact cab, as a matter of interest what is your favourite tone setting on the LH500 through the Cab? -
I would be interested to know what other bass players use as Bass Amp Heads as a partner to a Barefaced Compact Cab, and why they chose that Head over any other they may have tried.

Thanks
The Amps are rated at 250W 8Ohm
They are the Ashdown Mag 210T Deep and Ashdown Mag 115 Deep Cabinets
I am located near Port Talbot
South Wales -
I have an Ashdown Mag 210T Bass Cab and also an Ashdown 115 Bass Cab for sale.
Both Cabs are in great condition has a really good sound. Reason for selling is that I am simply looking to
down size as I only tend to play small venues now.
I would be happy to sell separately for £95 each however if sold as a pair I would accept £180
buyer will need to collect
I have enclosed a photo with the Cabs Included
I have also just added a close up of the Mag 115 Cab -
How good is the Hartke 3500 is it that much better than my Ashdown Mag 300, or should I save a bit more until I can afford Ashdown ABM Evo 3. As I can get a 2nd hand Hartke 3500 for under £250 and just a few years old.

What difference is the in the sound of a Hartke 3500 to the sound of an Ashdown ABM 500?
Which would suite my Ashdown Mag 210T and 115 the best?
Would eith amp be a great improvement over my Mag 300 Head ?
I play a precision bass in a band playing indie style, pop and soft rock ballads
Thanks again -
There's no reason at all that the Hartke wouldn't go with your Ashdown cabs, it actually sounds like pairing them together would make a classy rig! If you were to replace them though - have you a rough idea of how much you'd like to spend? Also, what sort of music would you be using them for?

Thanks for the help , I guess the sale of the existing 2 Ashdown cabs and additional funds would leave approximately £400 for replacement cab. I guess I would have to consider 1 cab and maybe a 1 x 4 speaker setup unless I can find 2 cabs with 2 speakers.
The band I am in play original music mixture of styles ranging from, pop, indie style, light rock ballads. -
I am looking to upgrade my Bass Head and am considering the Hartke 3500 as an option as I have heard many great reviews of this Amp.
Would this suit my Ashdown Mag 210T and Ashdown Mag 115 ?
What other Cabs would you recommend ?
For ease of transportation I would prefer not to use a 1 x 4 speaker Cab and would rather use 2 x 2 speaker Cabs. -
For sale excellent condition Ashdown Mag 115 Cabinet. Really good value for money cabinet I am asking only £90 for this. Buyer collects due to weight of item.
-
I have a Carlsbro Bass Beasty Amplifier for sale which is in great condition. The speaker has been replaced with a 15in Eminence Speaker which I think has improved the sound quality. The amp is in really good condition. Due to the weight the buyer will need to collect. I am selling this Amp for £ 150
ashdown abm evo 11 will give you what you are looking for, much better than the newer model as i have had both.some for sale around at the moment.weakest link they certainly aint.
That's interesting, would they work well with my existing mag 210t and mag115 or should I also consider upgrading the cab to a better one if I am able to get an ABM Evo 2 or 3. -
If you're happy to buy used gear you should consider an SVT 3. Usually go well within your budget and are awesome sounding amps.
Thanks for the advice, does the SVT 3 have a valve pre amp and what is the output -
I am considering getting a new bass head preferably with a valve pre amp. I have a budget of approximately £500 and am looking for real improvement in the sound. I guess what I am looking for is more clarity and punch from the sound. Any suggestions as to what are the best bass heads available at this price.
I currently have an Ashdown Mag 300 with Mag 210T and 115T and use a Fender Squire Precision made in Japan with seymour duncan pickups and also a Fender Highway Jazz bass.
The options I have considered are:-
a) Upgrade to Ashdown ABM Evo III
Upgrade to Hartke LH 500
My current set up has served me well and have done many gigs. Also should I consider changing my cabs in future and maybe sell my existing cabs to help fund replacements.

Thanks, I’d prefer a small combo amp and rather avoid using headphones if possible. I just want something I can plug in, connect my bass to and play along to whatever I may be listening to on my hifi or tv.
