I recently sold my heavy Ashdown bass amp and am looking at either the Genz Benz CTR 500-115 at about £490 or the Gallien and Krueger MB210-II at £470. The GB is a bit heavier. Any advice on these combos or others in the same price range. I mainly play double bass, but will probably do the odd gig with my Precision.

Any expert experience would be welcome.

i know its a head and more money but they come up secondhand on basschatthttp://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/EA_Doubler.html

  4. i'am looking for a cab to pair with my bassman heads 135 & 50 watts using 51 p bass and double bass,
i like the sound of the 50 watt bassmans matching cab which is 2x15 but its to much to transport (so kind of big warm sound)
been thinking of Aguilar gs 212 or Db 212 due to size/weight and being 4 ohmms or even a 4x10 any experience with these cabs or any advice would be good

@doghouse I'll take the Bassman down next Sunday to rehearsal and I'll report back.

I bet as soon as I've tried them together I won't want to part with the Bassman....
cool cant wait for your report as i love my bassman but need a more managable cab

Used it at rehearsal last night and was really really pleased with it. The others in the band commented on how nice it sounded.

I can get such a nice tone from my OTB (have had the original valves swapped and there's a mullard in there now...) with this cab that I'm even considering getting shot of my Fender Bassman 100, as it seems like I would no longer have any need of it.

Never thought I would say that.
have you tried the bassman with it , love to no wot its like been looking at bearfaced to pair with a bassman
