1.
If you mean cyan coloured maple boarded jazz style basses then I has got one too

Yes polishing takes a very long time if you're doing it by hand. It's worth it though (well unless the finish gets f***ed up like what happened to mine :) )
Perhaps us four should start a club? :)

  2.
STOP CONFUSING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

First, I didn't like P-basses. I bought two of these (both white).
Second, I am not a fan of tortoise-shell plates. And you're making me question that too!!! That's a seriously nice combination. Hmmm.
I was the exact same, hated every P Bass i played until the Sue Ryder. But sorry, i still cant stand tort plates :)

  3.
and it all started with this innocent looking thread... :)
I reckon we should send Sue Ryder herself a link to the "Sue Ryder Bass has Arrived" Thread and see what she says, never know, she might decide to start another run of basses, or even a jazz bass too :)

  4. I came across an MIA Jazz going for about a grand in my local music shop and it had sooo many flaws, the Squier they had was put togethor much better (and played better IMO). There was even a gap between the PG and the Control plate, i could have dropped a 5 pence down there and never had seen it.

In my eyes its all about playing as many as you can get your hands on and finding the right one, the one or two VMJ played much better than any Fender i have tried. I think i was just lucky when i built mine and it came out perfect (in my eyes :))

Good luck finding THAT jazz Musicman

  5.
What do you hope to gain by replacing the harness? :)
Just fancy upgrading the electronics before i try and stick on a Mighty Mite neck seeing as thats all i can afford atm. I bought the Ryder to Mod and its exactly what al be doing, to be honest, if it never came in sonic blue i wouldnt have bought one. (silly, i know)

I plan on somehow getting another and putting in two jazz pups and having a set of stacked knobs again with a Mighty Mite neck.

I think i'm modding just for the sake of it...

  6. I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have a sonic blue ryder willing to swap it for maybe another colour, i am willing to pay the sixty quid for it so you can replace it with another one? Quite fancy another one in blue to mod into a P body with 2 jazz pups. But i think my chances are slim

  7. Well my G Tuner was bent, but doesnt affect playability but i gave it a wee hammering to get it straighter (wasn't a severe bend) and the intonanation (sp?) was already near perfect which surprised me but overall i am very impressed, i have tried and tested some P's in my life and hated them all but for the price and quality you cant afford not to get one or two (or three :)) of these.

Really tempted to buy another and turn it into a P body loaded with two jazz pups with stacked knobs and maybe one day put on a Mighty Mite Jazz neck as i LOVE the feeling of them.

EDIT: I just went to get another Blue P and they seem to have sold out... Wonder who will be the first to sell their Blue ryder for a profit?

2nd EDIT: Just emailed the shop asking if they will have any Blue P's coming in, fingers crossed they do and hopefully they stay at 60 quid.
