  1. Hi All,

I have started a Funky Soul band.

Currently the set up is Guitar, Bass, Vocals and drums.

Some songs lend themselves well without keys whilst some dont work well at all.

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Cheers

  2. Hi Guys,

    Hope you are all well?

I am looking at a one cab solution for my rig.

Currently I have the Genzler 350 watt head and single 12.

I am looking at a 4 ohm 2x10 to get the full power into one cab.

Just looking to see if there is any love for single 2x10 4 ohm cabs out there?

What is the objective, and what is the issue that you are looking to correct?

I dont think there is enough performance coming from the single 12 with the 350 watt head and single cab. I have a chance to get an identical cab but it would mean letting the 500 watt head go, so weighing up options.

  4. Hi All,

I know about ohms and delivering full power from amp heads etc. But have would like some advice or thoughts on the below.

    I have a 500 watt head and a 350 watt head plus a single 12" cab.

    The heads are different makes.

My thinking is to add an extra cab to the 350 head or use the 500 watt head with the single cab.

    I play in a 4 piece soul/funk band.

    Welcome thoughts.

  6. Selling my EBS Session 30.

Great little amp for home practice.

Very handy aux in and headphone out.

Have used on small intimate gigs. Classic EBS Clean tone in really good condition.

Based in Northamptonshire but do travel with work so could meet.

    Cheers

  7. Hi All,

Over the jubilee weekend I watched a bass player using a Markbass Jeff Berlin combo with a 90s cover band.

The volume from the combo was amazing and it got me thinking.

With a lot of bass players moving towards 12s is anyone using a 15 for a single cab solution.

I have seen a 4 ohm Vanderkley 156 cab (15" with a 6") which is tempting to use with my Genzler 350 head.

    I've never used a 15 as a standalone before.

    Welcome your thoughts all.

  8. I have tried the 212T with a 350 magellan head and the fact that the cab is a 4 ohm cab means all the power goes into the cab. If you have the 800 head and like the sound of 10s then I would go with the 10's.

The 2x12 would give you however all the power from the 800 watt head.

I am looking at an extra cab for my Genzler set up as I am not getting enough from the single Genzler 12.

  9. Hi All,

Been a long time since I posted on here but wanted some thoughts.

I hear about a lot if bass players using 800 watt heads into single 12" cabs.

GR Bass do an 800 watt combo where 400 goes into the enclosure. I have also seen videos of Magellan 800 being user into MG12T cab.

What are peoples thoughts. I know you can't defy the laws of physics an all that.

I have a Magellan 350 into the MG12 and debating adding a second cab or going with the above option.

Are there any of you out there using similar to the above (800 watt into single 12).

    Cheers
