1.
Went out on Saturday and popped into Kingfisher Music in Fleet and noticed they had a fretless Aria Pro II bass in there in the traditional red with yellow stripes through the body. It looked fantastic and in good condition. The price was £575 which might be a bit steep and may be negotiable but just I would let you lot know in case anyone is after something like this.
Any idea which model it is? Going on your brief description it could be many, but most likely an SB.

  2. It's definitely not vintage. I played Ibanez exclusively from 1987-2007 and I remember seeing these in the stores in 92-94. As far as I know they were pretty low-cost instruments but they are OK. I'm sure they are Japanese-built, although the headstock does look uncomfortably close to the cheapo EX Series (made in Korea) which were kinda crappy. The seller definitely needs to correct his auction and remove the words "vintage" and "1982".

  3.
There is a raging arguement amongst my friends and collegues. They have been discussing 'The best bass player ever' and as expected Flea has been a hot subject. We all know he is ace.... and we all know that there are many more truly great players (too many to mention) but if you had to choose one..... would it be Flea because of his uniqueness and individuality or someone else? Help solve this row.. please... !
Wow, Flea is good but best ever? Not even close. There is no best ever. I mean, putting Flea next to someone such as Ric Fierabracci makes Flea look kinda amateur, but is it really necessary... And Victor Wooten makes Flea's basslines sound simple.

  4. First of all I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place. It's difficult to navigate the site on an iPod Touch!

My basses were stolen while I was away from home between July 11 - July 20. Two basses were taken -- a Squier Vintage Modified 70's Jazz and an Aria Pro II SB-R 150. I don't care too much about the Squier but the Aria was very dear to me and my heart is broken because not only was it an incredible bass but it was a gift from my girl who saved like crazy to buy it. The worst thing is we are pretty much broke and we have no insurance for the contents of our home.

The full serial number is unknown but starts with a 3. This makes it a 1983 model. The neck pickup has no output, and there is a laquer chip on the treble side of the neck, somewhere near the 9th fret. This chip is approximately an inch in length and maybe a quarter inch in width. Overall the bass is in great condition.

If you have any info on this bass please send me a private message.

  5. Can you PM me with a price for the P/J pickup Westone? And what is it, a Thunder III? I posted a thread asking for one of these recently but ended up buying an Aria. I'm still interested in a Thunder II or III though. Cheers.

  6. I am now the proud owner of an SB-R150. Only just purchased and yet to be received, but I can't wait.

£600 off eBay. Condition is great but the volume of one of the pickups is lower than the other. Anyone think it will need replacing? I was thinking maybe I need to contact Kent Armstrong.
