Im a fan... always wanted an eb3 but never had the cash when a good one became available. I do have an Epiphone limited edition short scale which is a great guitar.

I guitar tech'd for a fairly well known prog band back in the day and the bass player played a rik 4001 which he ran in stereo, he also played a twin neck... bass and 12 string. they went through two sets of back line, two hiwatt 100w heads through custom built cabs with 2x10's and 1x15 in each and seperate horn units... both guitars were modified with cannon sockets and he had custom made leads with cannon that split into two jacks at the other end. They ran through a stereo volume pedal and stereo chorus... It was all a huge nightmare and it took me over 20 years to persuade him to simplify the setup...
Oh and it was also di'd in stereo also.

I get the same problem now and again but never had it before I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, look it up and check for other symptoms, its unlikely as its super rare but better safe than sorry, mine is drug controlled and I cope well with playing.

I tried to sell a ric copy on ebay a couple of years back and the add was pulled down about 4 times even with no use of the word richenbacker in the auction. I also got a fairly harshly worded email from rickenbacker which pissed me off as ebay must have furnished them with my email address.[/i]

Just about gig ready with my current band, we dont plan on playing more than once or twice a month and the thought of having to use all four cars to shift the gear is a nightmare. I also own the pa and feel kinda responsible for its transportation... who else has this problem and how have you resolved it?

I would quite like an eb3, ive got a tokai but would like the real thing.
They dont seem to come up for sale very often... whats the best era for them and is there anything other than neck breaks that I need to look out for... ?

If the deceaseds partner and mother are cool with this, who else has grounds to complain, I understand you dont want to be upsetting people but to be honest if everyone there is fully aware that a rock band is playing then no one has grounds to complain.
Go and play, celebrate a life, and give the deceased a good send off!

My first bass was a musicmaster way back in the early 70's A red one with tape wound strings, it sounded gash untill I stuck on some roundwounds and it was a fantastic bass.... oh why do we sell guitars? Oh wait... I know, if we didnt we would need a warehouse to store the blooming things.
