What about Alien Ant Farm - I know their bassist has a 5 or 6 string. He uses one on the video for Annie Are You OK, but all the tabs say you can play it with one string, so I guess I do not know why he is using one in the video

Why not try and use some proper wood varnish or something, after a while the glue will just peel and look a mess and probably sound weird. Tip - do not play on your bass before your glue has dried if you use it...lol.

I think 8 string bass, which are like 12 strings guitar (2 strings for everyone) sound amazing. Johnny Christ from A7X uses one and it gives it so much punch and has a distinctive sound.

I used to have a fender jazz highway 1 bass. I did not rate it that well thought. I bought the upgraded model, but received the original. Only realized a year afterwords when I tried to sell it.

Dude I wouldn't have set it a fire, the bass strings could have just fired off after the wood had burned away.

Hey, I play with a pick and I think it sounds great, I do not use fingers because of that horrible clank noise you get, it really spoiler the bass's sound.
I would suggest you keep at it with a pick, it will pay off.

Anyone else think that Fender Jazz basses look better with the scratch plate on? I think they look weird without them, plus there are screw holes everywhere. You should try playing bass with one string actually. I bet there are a few songs out there that only use the 1 string or that can be transposed.

I once bought a Fender Jazz Highway 1 bass of GAK, online and i was told it had a badass bridge and never thought about it or anything. I later sold my bass and found out I was coned it did not have a badass bridge I was sold the degraded model if people get me, the disappointment.

Blink 182 was really easy, but I struggled with muse. Anyone else reckon muse's bassist is really good and makes awesome basslines.
