Hi,

Could tell me how is the neck profile ?

More Ibanez or Warwick ?

Thanks

Hey man, sorry for the delay, I guess I have my notifications set up wrong!

Interesting question, I have an ibanez blazer 4 string, and it's nothing like that, BUT, I think the profile is shallower than my memory of a Warwick 5 I had yonks ago. More half an oval than half a circle, knowhatimean?!

Here are the approx dims at frets in mm

1st: 47 wide / 21 deep

7th: 56 wide / 22 deep

12th: 63 wide / 23 deep

So fairly flat down the board!

Hope that helps, you can always come play it if you're in the area!

2. Up for grabs is this one-of-a-kind, beautifully made 5-string fan-fret hand-made beast. Dubbed "The Kraken" by original owner Lotusmark2 and I've had no reason to rename. This is a stunning piece of luthier-ship, each element carefully crafted and put together. I have really enjoyed playing and recording this bass at home for the last 4 years but only gigged it once so it is in top nick. The usual story of space constraints and the landlord wanting a new yacht (probably) means I'm keeping the workhorse and this has got to go.

Here's the spec:

• Swamp ash body
• Walnut top
• Waterfall Bubinga neck
• Seymour Duncan active pups
• 3-band Seymour Duncan eq
• Aircraft aluminium and bell brass one-off bridge
• Compound tech/brass nut (self-lube)
• Twin carbon truss rods
• Active/passive push-pull
• Knobs and inlays also Bubinga
• 36, 35.6, 35, 34.6, 34 scale
• <9lbs

Price-wise I'm asking for what I paid for it; I've kept it well serviced and maintained and it's playing as well as ever. Happy to consider offers.

I'm in Peckham SE London if you want to try it out or we can meet somewhere mutually convenient.

Side-bar - I bought this off Mark when he came down south to watch a Rugby World Cup game in 2015. Hopefully shifting it at the same stage of the 2019 competition isn't tempting fate for the northern hemisphere teams...!

3. Hi,

I am due in Copenhagen tomorrow and I have had a minor bass disaster. Won't bore you with the details, but basically I need to borrow or hire a bass in Copenhagen for a gig tomorrow!

The place is called Cafe Blagards Apotek in the south of Norrebro. It can be anything, the gig is acoustic singer-songwriter so the deader the better (I play an Ibanez Blazer usually... with old strings) but honestly, even an active super zingy 5-string would be appreciated!

Anyone know anyone or anywhere I could source something? I land at around 4:30PM tomorrow, so very little time to get anything done before the gig.

It's a long shot, but thanks all the same!

4. Comprehensive video review added. There just aren't enough videos of people telling you about their gear on youtube IMHO!

5. [s]£450[/s] £400

For Sale is this Yamaha YBB-201 Tuba - 3 valve.

I exchanged it for my old tuba about a year ago but have since not had the time to play any where near as much as I would like.

It has a few dings and dents but plays nicely.

Offers welcome and you are also welcome to come and parp it before considering. I am based in SE London.

No case so prefer not to consider shipping.

Pictures included as attachments.

6. SOLD
Selling my Markbass Traveller 1x15 cab. [s]£300.00[/s] Maundy Thursday reduction, now £250.

I bought this second hand as an extension to my 1x12 combo, but ended up using a different rig for big venues, so the extension cab is surplus to requirements. I've barely used it and the first owner also hardly used it.

Sounds great plugged into the smaller combo and packs a fair punch at 400w. It's a pretty light cab as well, very portable.

Comes with a lightweight black and yellow cover.

Based in SE London. Will ship at extra cost.

7. THIS IS NOW SOLD

For sale is this great big Bb Tuba. Plays well, recently service-repaired. Couple of the slides (not the tuning slides) will take some patience to work loose but doesn't affect the playability.

Will upload photos later.

Collection preferred but will investigate postage options if asked.

All offers considered

8. One more sale in the pre-house-move equipment cull. Put it through its paces and it still comes up to scratch. Selling because I don't have the time to find the band for this pedal! Sold with power supply, original box and instructions.

Adds a tone controlled octave-up to your bass note with the option of an additional 4th below or 5th above (the synthesized note). You can also dial in distortion.

These aren't made any more so would suit the speculative collector or someone who fancies edging the rhythm guitarist out of their band...(!)

Hopefully there are some pictures attached.

Offers welcome, postage negotiable also

9. Moving house and this needs to go. Comes with piano stool (not pictured). Has 2x headphone output, useful if giving piano lessons at midnight!

Got good service out of it, decent keys weighting and a couple of different sounds as well. Spec linked-to below. Note: spec says 4th voice is choir, on mine it is strings.

Detachable from stand but still collection only. If sold in the next couple of weeks might be able to arrange a halfway meeting point.

USA-made Fender Jazz Deluxe V string in rather attractive blue colour with mother of pearl scratch plate. Available with moulded case. £700. All sensible offers considered.

Bought in 2000, one previous owner. Made around 1998.

Much gigged but in good nick nonetheless. Not used it for 6 months since moving back to 4 string for most projects.

9-volt 3 band EQ, stacked knobs. 34" scale length. Neck 48mm wide at nut and 74mm at body.

Not particularly heavy for a 5 string, previous seller of one of these had it down as 4.2 kg, I haven't weighed this one.

Damage wise there is one major change from its original state: one of the tuning pegs snapped it's fixings taking a knock in transit and I replaced it with a non-fender one. (Actually a kindly chap on Denmark St in London did it for a fiver, Fender wanted £75 for a whole new set. Pah!) It looks different, it has been fixed in with screws, and I've had no trouble with it since replacing it in 2003. I have seen some posts recently about replacement machine heads from Schaller Electronics, so someone looking to replace with a lookilike could investigate here.

Currently strung E - C, the last thing to happen to it before being put out to pasture; always had a low B on it before.

Just noticed that the strap buttons are missing in the picture, they will be reattached for sale!

Offers welcome, will trade for not having to move to London. Actually no trades.

Can post at buyers expense or deliver within a reasonable radius of Bristol (as long as it happens before the car fails its MOT in May).

Any questions please ask, I'm now away for 3 days with intermittent internet access so please forgive any delays in answering queries.
