Have had
Westone Thunder 1A
Gibson Explorer
Rickenbacker 4003
Stopped playing for about 8 yrs and got rid of them, Started up again and now have:
JayDee Supernatural Celeste (Heavy and awkward, but fantastic sound)
A Vintage Stingray copy that I bought cheap and defretted, to have a go at fretlessness
Ibanez Gary Willis 5 string fretless - its nice enough and will do till I can get something mental -
hi thinking of getting a epiphone explorer, wondering if its any good? any one had any past experiances? i mainly play indie and punk.
I use to have the Gibson Explorer bass in the early 90s - my metal days - it was really nice to play but top heavy. Looked well cool in alpine white - but i bet if i heard it now I'd hate the sound - not very bass heavy, which is number one consideration for me these days.
I've heard the Epiphone is really good so if you want that look and like a more trebly sound its probly a winner -
Ello all - I'm new to this place - been trying to get to grips with the whole theory thing recently - reckon this place should help.
First started playing about 18 years ago for about 6 years ago - then lost interest ofr a whil - started up agsin about 3 years ago and loving it more than ever.
Into loads of types of music, specially house, funk, groove, soul stuff.
Playing a Jaydee Supernatural Celeste 5 string, and an Ibanez 5 string fretless (The Willis sig). Bass heavy sounds.
that'll have to do for now cos I'm at work and lunchtimes over
Looking forward to haveing a proper look round here later on

The Dunlop MXR Bass DI+ is pretty cool - the distortion does me quite nicely, even with my stupidly bass heavy sound, and its got a clean eq and its a DI as well
