3.
Great tune, i used to play this in a funk band and used to use an envelope filter or sometimes synth effect on the bass (even both at times)...was a really funky take on the tune in a Bootsy esq kind of way!
Its a great tune, really gets going, just a shame the 'camera man' stopped where he did...

5. If you find that you get a gig in for a date that a member of the band is not available..

always say 'we are not available that day as we have a booking' don't let on that somebody is not
available... it then sounds like you have lots of gigs, and are fitting them in..
or you could say 'we have a private gig that day'

6. We played for the first time with our new band "Deep Fried Bananas" in a rather small venue
"The Cove Inn" on Portland in Dorset on Saturday 11th, and it was my first gig as a bassist..

We got there nice and early, we were booked to play from 2100 - 2300, so at 1800 we started
to get the gear in and up as much as we could around the tables full of eaters... but of course
couldn't really put up the PA.. anyway to cut a long story a bit short, after consultation with
d management, we started at 2130... the band were a bit concerned with not having enough
material for the gig.... our first set finished at 2300..... at we cut out a couple and no there was
no massive gaps between songs.... we managed a small break for a pee and full up then went
on till just before midnight....
the place was full and stayed that way till we finished and just in time for last orders...
we even got one of the punters give us a tenner for drinks...

yep we have now got another couple of gigs there, one in another venue and a couple of
interested punters for private gigs...

enjoyed it too....

good to be back gigging again..

7. I have just been informed of this site, so here I am..
I have been playing guitar since I was at school (back in the 60's) and have played
in various local bands (my last one lastest 10 years), doing pubs and clubs etc..
Recently joined another band and just before xmas the bass player went awol..
so I stepped in on the bass (fortunately already had one) and am now the bass player.
We have not gigged yet but are very close to our first one now.

So i'm here to learn, and hopefully put in my 10 pence worth (used to be pennies when I was young).. when I can..

my gear at the moment is

Two Fender Strats (Lonestar, and American Standard)
Taylor 300 series acoustic
Tanglewood viola bass
Fender Cybertwin
Ashdown 300 combo
plus the other bits and pieces like mics (shure sm58/57's) leads etc...
