  1. This works for me because when you use the open A you can rake down and move your hand up one position to get to the notes starting at the fifth fret on the D string:
    --------------------------5-7-8-9------------
    ---------------3---5-6-7-----------9-7-9-0-0
    -------3-5-3---0-----------------------------
    1-4-5-----------------------------------------

  2. Hi, I´m a professional bass player from Norway that have started to record videos for bass players wanting to develop their skills in improvising. I´l also post clips where I show how to play som of Jaco`s favourite grooves, some bebop tunes and how to use different scales and arpeggios. Check it out...
Not a whole a lot of talking but I think you´ll understand anyway...:-)
...Here is a typical Jaco groove with a little improv in the end:

  3. I`ve owned a lot of high-end basses like: Modulus, Fodera, Ibanez GWB, Warwick.... but I always come back to Fender. The sound of a passive Fender Jazzbass is more usable in most settings, in contrary to the basses metioned. The best thing with a good fender is that: What you put in you get out!! Sound is shaped with your fingers, and in my opinion Fenders are much more dynamic than most of the active basses I`ve owned. Hot preamps, kills the dynamics!!
If you like dynamics-buy a Fender, if you like zzziiing- buy an high end bass!

That didn`t work out as I thought;-)

What problems do you have with the WT1000, I`ve got one, never had any problems, besides weak speakers ;)

  6. My basses through the times:

Hofner - Old bass I found in the closet! Belonged to my father, got me on to playing!
Warwick Nobby Meidel- Headless, never practised so much on a instrument as on this one.
Fender Presicion Fretless( Without the presicion pickup, drilled a hole near the bridge, and placed an active EMG jazz pickup there, sounded great!)
Carvin 5 string- Don`t remember witch model.
    Warwick Fortress 5
Modulus jazz fretless, another great fretless, miss this one!
Yamaha TRB6: Fusion dot com ;-)
    Fender Marcus Miller model.
Ibanez GWB 5 string fretless: O my god what a sound, too bad I didn`t have the time to practise this one enough:-(
Fender Jazz bass 64 Custom Shop Relic- This is my main bass, really happy with this one!
Fodera NYC Empire QMT maple neck: Great bass, but I`m a rosewood guy!
On order: Fender Victor Bailey 5 string
