  1. Hi people can you help?

I have a Yamaha TRB 5 string and have recently been using it to play drop c tunes such. I am tuning the low b to C and the rest of the strings accoridingly. My issue is that when i tune to standard pitch, the sound is very boomy. I cant seem to eq this out either on my amp or bass. The action is quite high to accomodate the tuning and i have tried to lower the pickups without success.
Is this poor tech (i mostly use finger and attack it quite hard) or is it worth a set up? I also use a Fender Jazz loaded with seymour and it sounds great but do not wish to cut the nut for heavier strings required for the low tuning.
I play though a Hartke Ha7000 and either 1 4 x 10 or i combine it with a 1 x15, both speaker set ups have the same boomy sound.

Can anyone help before i sell my bass.

    Cheers Guys

  2. Hi Bass people,
I was wondering if you guys could help me. I have the above head and run it through Hartke XL range 4 x10 and 1 x 15. I dint have nuch time for load practise (using small units for band practise). On the front of my amp there is contour(low Pass High Pass), Cross over (Frequency and Balance). I run the 4 x 10 through the high output and 1 x 15 through the low output. Could anyone suggest some settings to start me off. I know that settings are personel but i would appreciate a heads up.
Also i run my ptube pre amp on full, does this effect the level of the DI out ? I have found that everytime i connect via the DI it sends too much signal to the Desk (red lined). Can any one help?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi all

I would be very interested in any one who has bought a new double bass on the internet for about £500 - £600. I am currently in the market looking for one and as i new to the db i don't know anything. I appreciate that it would be better to buy a second hand model but these are like hens teeth and as this is going to be my 40th birthday present to myself (getting a bit old to play maiden for much longer) i would like one asap.
Any advice is always greatly appreciated one buying tips .
    Many Thanks
