I've used a blow lamp. Job done in 30 mins.

Seconded ALTHOUGH this works on some finishes and not on others. I once stripped a 70s Columbus jazz in a similar time but an unidentified PBass body didn't respond to this treatment. The route I normally take is heat gun/nitro moors/belt sander until one works!

Ps: it's better to fully strip the current finish. Never cut corners when refinishing IMHO , regardless of how much the basic body cost. You can make a cheap body look a custom shop job with lots of prep

    Pps: let's see some pics!

  2. Well personally I think the best use of flanger and bass guitar is Tool's Chancellor and he uses a standard Boss BF2 flanger designed for guitar. In answer to your question, no you don't need a 'bass' flanger. In fact, I don't know if any exist.

FYI, I'm selling my boss Bf2 in the BC for sale ads. Check it out

  3. Well I've had it from new and icant remember it ever working from the battery. I don't think the pedal is failing, the battery connection simply doesn't work and to my knowledge never has. Cheers for the interest.

  4. For sale is a BF2 Flanger without the box. Not used much but at least 10 years old. In very good condition. For some reason it doesn't work off a battery but works perfectly well from mains. The back is Velcro. Cheers. 35 quid + 5 for postage

  5. Yeah, I'll definitely lose the power block soonish, money is tight at the mo. I'm still gonna take off the flanger as I simply never use it but its always nice to have some more space for extra pedals isn't it?

Update pics soon as the board evolves. Currently got the wah on there and shifted everything up. It's amazing the range of sounds you get from three decent pedals isn't it?

  6. Here's my rather simple pedalboard layout as it stands.

    So we've got
    Korg pitchblack
    Big muff pi
    Boss flanger
    Boss dd20
    In that order

Now, with space at a premium on this small board, I've had to accept that the boss bf2 needs to go. To replace it, I'm going to add a Jim Dunlop crybaby. I'd like the crybaby to go on the far right (ie 'first') hand side for logistical reasons but obviously the proper way to do things is for the tuner to go first.

My question is, will it make a blind bit of difference going wah>tuner>fuzz>delay?

    Cheers for any help.

  7. The more I hear about Rickenbacker the more I believe the make up of the organisation is wired up wrong. I'd be so pissed if I'd just paid their ridiculous prices for a guitar to be told this stuff!

Thankfully I love my (280 quid!) Kasuga Rickenfaker so much ill never need a Rickenbacker. ;-)
