  1. Soon to have a HX Stomp (tomorrow hopefully).
Currently have a C4, Aftershock, Tuner, compressor, expression pedal, neuro hub and DMC 3XL.

Would you run them straight through or some into the effects loop of the HX Stomp?

I have in my head that I stick some "scenes" into the hub for things like an octave, synth, filter using C4 and some distortion sounds from the aftershock then recall them using the Stomp?

  2. Thank you all for the suggestion so far, I'd imagine I should be able to setup my disaster area DMC3XL a similar way as extra footswitches and be able to get the C4 going as well.

It looks like a massive learning curve but being a bit techy hopefully I'll enjoy the journey.

  3. Hello all,

At some point (probably end of August by the looks of it) I will receive a GX Stomp.

I've got a SA C4 and expression pedal that I'll use with it and got the hub and a DMC 3XL for some midi bits, I'll probably use my Darkglass Hyperluminal and Sonic Research Tuner.

Is there anything else that would complement the stomp (been looking at various pedal boards to get an idea of what might be missing)

  4. Thank you both, some food for thought as it were.

I've just purchased the C4 so not looking to move that on at the moment.

The HX Stomp does sound interesting though as does the Darkglass. I'll see if anyone else has any thoughts or other pedal suggestions to build something up.

  5. Hi all,

My current board consists of a Tuner, Source Audio C4 and the expression pedal, Darkglass - B7K, B3K, Hyperluminal and V1 Strymon El Capitan.

I have various other pedals, like fuzz, proton V2, mxr bass octave deluxe to name a few.

I'll soon be getting a DMC 3XL and wondering other than the C4 some better uses for a Midi journey.

I feel that the B3K and B7K both being on the same board feels a bit redundant but I was using the B7K as more of a preamp.

Open to suggestions of what I can do or routes to take to take more advantage of Midi.

In a covers band that mostly play funk, soul and rock n roll.

    Thanks Matt

  6. Thank you all for the suggestions and I think the last reply sums it up perfectly, can hear my brother saying that haha (guitar player/lead singer who put band together).

I haven't had a chance to pop the B:assmaster back on yet but after playing around and watching the video gave me some ideas to play with (though noted above how much sound from his bass there was in the video is debatable).

  7. Hi all,

I am wondering if I can get a synthy type of tone from the existing pedals I have or if I need something else or more of a dedicated synth pedal.

I wouldn't use too often but for the odd songs (covers band) it would help a bit.

I have the MXR Bass Ocatve Deluxe, 3 Leaf Audio Proton V2 (decay knob not switch) and some fuzzes - Malekko B:assmaster, Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian and a Little Big Muff.

Not all on the same board at the moment I've got the octave then wren and cuff and 3 leaf it gets somewhat the way there but I feel I loose some volume/definition when kicking them on together.

    Anyway thanks in advance.

    Matt

  8. Hi all,

I find myself looking for a pedal to fit between or after my BB Preamp and TFR i'm not 100% what, but I think I am looking for a pedal that has a high mid orientated drive or possibly even a little scooped at the moment leaning towards a b3k/7k but open to suggestions.

    Other pedals I have:

    Mountain King Megalith
    Little Big Muff
DHA ValveTone VT2 Standard Dual Bass
    Old Sansamp bass

The 3 main basses I use (not all at once normally take one) - P-bass, Dingwall NG-2, Warwick Thumb
Amp - main ones would probably be Genz STL 900 & Shuttle 600 but also have a Matamp GT200 (older one).
Cab - Berg 610 (not as much use as a pain to move around and not many venues like to see something like that turn up) and a Barefaced Compact (2nd gen) which is my main gigging cab.

In 2 bands the 1st an originals/cover band playing rock mostly GNR, Rolling Stones, ZZ Top etc, the 2nd band is more soul, funk, pop etc.

    Thanks Matt

  9. Hi all, just wanted to know if any of you have played this pedal and if so any good or bad points?

I am tempted to get one (for use with both g**tar and bass) but it would be imported from the US so just trying to see if it is worth the money (after customs etc).

From the clips i've heard it sounds amazing but I thought i'd ask to see if anyone has played one 1st.

    Thanks Matt.

  10. Thanks for the replies everyone i'm going to have a mess around with it but as it's still earlyish and i'm at home not too loud lol, thanks for clearing up those bits (suppose i should have asked Jeff at the time but forgot) If I can I may make a few clips

  11. Hi all, I asked about this amp quite some time ago and now after a few months have received it, I think I forgot how loud this thing is just a quick few questions to anyone else who has one.

    1) What exactly does the presence knob do? (seems to add more bass when turned to the right maybe like a mid-scoop?)
    2) Are the 'Hi' and 'Low' inputs active/passive inputs?
    3) Anyone got a fuzz/distortion sound out of it if yes what kind of settings did you use?

Other than that please enjoy the pics
    :)

  12. It's going to be Black pebble, with white beading and chrome corner plates and the Green illuminous logo. Pictures will be posted when i get it but i'll upload a few I took whilst I was there a bit later in the Matamp thread.

  13. No i haven't heard any glassjaw (any suggestions) but I do like my grind on bass not all the time but just when it's needed. I mostly play plubs but the odd occasion i will play a club or other venue. Most of the time they are keen to DI the bass but I will get some gigs without PA support (just vox and possibly bass drum) to crank it up.

  14. Thanks for the replies, by lower volume i meant not SVT grind volume but it seems from most comments and peoples opinions one of the better if not best tube amps out today. I'm up against 2 guitarists and a loud drummer when he wants to be so the extra power is always helpfull i'll also pm monz and see his opinion.

I would like to take the trip but it will have to wait till next year (not long to go though) but it is a 4hr ish drive :)

  15. Right i'll cut to the chase, I may be quite interested in one of these but just wanted anyone who has one or tested/heard one opinion. I already have an SVT but because it is a vintage one i don't always want to take it incase of damage and the weight :) .

The other points I would like to know are if it can get grindy at a lower volume and if it is 2/4ohm or 4/8ohm configuration. I would use it with a NV610 for big gigs and if it is 8ohm and speakon a compact for smaller.

Thanks for your help in advance
