Thanks guys. And Jimbob, that's exactly what I'm after - to look more at my playing than what I'm playing with!

I just don't know anymore, lol! I want 2 solid basses that I can just hand onto forever; One fretted and one fretless, but I can't seem to hang onto anything! I really want to stop buying, selling and trading basses but I refuse to settle on something that I don't absolutely love so my last 2 basses are for sale. I'm sure I'll have at least an idea of what I want by the time one of them goes.

Both of the basses are in great condition. The Fender has some typical player wear and a small (2 mm) mark on the back where solder went thru the finish (no burn mark just bare wood). The Sandberg has a blemish on the tip of the lower horn where it looks like someone tried to install another strap-lock but other than that it's fine. the Fender will ship with it's OHSC and the Sandberg with it's gigbag. Both will be packed well enough to stop bullets.

[b]Fender American Deluxe Jazz FMT V[/b] - Of all the basses I've owned including my Spectors, this is my favorite. It looks amazing, sounds amazing, and can handle anything that you throw at it and then some. It pretty much confirmed for me that I really dig jazz basses. Don't be too surprised if I take this down soon! I've put over $500 into this bass (Bartolini pickups and preamp, sadowsky knobs, all professionally installed, intonated and setup) to make it sound awesome and it does but I'm after something else. Maybe a jazz with 70s spacing? You choose the pickups that you want or get both for an extra $100 . The clips of the bass are both with the Bartolini pickups and stock Fender preamp.

I seem to have a thing for European basses, specifically German made ones but with a custom on the way and my Fender doing all the heavy lifting I just can't let these sit around and look awesome. These are some of the nicest basses that I've ever played and I'd really enjoyed owning them but it's time for them to move on.

Both of the basses are in great condition. The Schack is in great condition. It does have a small 1/2 in. long, 1mm thick scratch at the tip of the lower horn but it doesn't crack the finish. Besides that it has some players wear but nothing serious. The Sandberg has a blemish on the tip of the lower horn where it looks like someone tried to install another strap-lock but other than that it's fine. Both basses will ship with gigbags and will be packed well enough to stop bullets.

I figure any other site where I can talk about basses and junk is definitely worth my time . This is the beautiful Acacia Gruv/GLB bass that I got only days ago. It's great bass; the neck is comfortable, it's light, the slap tone is amazing, and it's in immaculate condition but it just doesn't have the sound I'm looking for. It's really my fault for expecting a jazz bass to not sound like a jazz bass, lol. Here are the details straight from the original sale thread:

The body is ash with a quilted maple [b]drop top [/b] with an amber finish, and a black finish 2tek bridge. The neck is a 24 fret, bolt on, 5 piece (wenge/purple heart/bubinga/purple heart/wenge), 35" scale, with an ebony fingerboard. The bass has black hipshot ultra-lite tuners and highly sought after Lane Poor Jazz pick ups, with a neutrik locking jack.

I've played 2 and I dig the sound. I think Spector basses in general are great which is why I own 2 Euros! The Legend 6's I've played were a tad heavy but the tone made up for it. There was plenty of low end and It's easy to dial in a good growl. Some people accuse EMG pickups, especially the DCs and HZs (which are in the Legends, i think), of sounding harsh. They can sound harsh but all you have to do to change that is turn a few knobs so its really not as big a deal as many make it out to be. The bodies , as with all Spectors is really comfortable. I think the only thing that didn't thrill me about the bass was the fact the the back of the neck was very flat. The shape, based on how it felt, made me think of a trapezoid with rounded edges, though it probably isn't that extreme in actuality. I like thin necks but I also like them to be rounded so I have somewhere to grab a hold of. I would absolutely recommend one new ($670-ish USD) or used.

The thing about playing a six is that YOU have to put that C string to work. It's more than easy enough to find a place for notes on the other 5. It forces you to think about new ways to work around the music you're given. Its fun to play once you get the hang of what the hell you actually want to do with it, lol. I say go for the 6 but before you do try some out in a store. Some people know right off the bat that they wont be able to deal with the extra weight, neck width, string, and whatever else comes with it so Its always a good idea to demo some before you make your decision.
