I get a good dub tone with my squier vista series musicmaster strung with TI jazz flats. Tone backed off and played close to the neck as previously stated. 

Really tempted, but as usual I'm totally skint.

49 years old, recently moved to Chelmsford and looking to join or form an original band. I've a wide taste in music and would consider pretty much anything, just not interested in playing covers. Am as into prog as I am dub, funk, jazz, post-rock, ambient, drone and experimental music.  If there are any other bassists in the area would also be up for forming a bass duo/trio.

This could be psychedelic, shoegaze, post-rock, experimental music, ambient sounds, avant garde weirdness, electronic bleeps, noise rock, drones...perhaps you hate labels (eh?) - well, you get the idea.[/font][/color]

We're not bothered how cool you are, or how often you've gigged before.

I've got an EHX Bass Microsynth pedal, still boxed with manual, power supply etc in mint condition. Bought it about 5 years ago but only ever used it for a few practice sessions.

I'll sell it for £100 or swap for a decent gigbag or hardcase.

Does any fancy swapping an SWR Workingpro 10 for an Ampeg B100. It's ten years old but looks like new apart from a few frayed threads on the handle. 100 watts, Blue chequerboard tolex, backported, big warm room filling tone.

I'll be sorry to see it go but I don't drive and need something more practical due to a disability.

Thanks for all your advice, I think I need to take my bass out to a few shops and try these out. Does anyone have any experience of the Genz-Benz Shuttle combos with the removeable head?

I don't drive and as much as I love my Ampeg B100 it's not very portable when you've got a gig-bag over your shoulder.

I really like the look of the minimark as I prefer to EQ from my bass. Is there anything as basic and as powerful out there without the steep price?
