  1. Just got back from a Sweden tour with this pedalboard, with most of it sourced from here!

The Starlifter and compressor are absolute gems and are staying put for the long haul. The OC5 has been a solid addition for octaves. Considering swapping out the Aftershock for a Pork 'n' Pickle as I don't need such complex overdrive. Also thinking of letting go of the Phaser since I don't use it much.

If I could manage to power a Boss GT1000 Core or an HX Stomp alongside the Starlifter, I might consider going hybrid. But for now, this setup works fine, just looking for a couple of tweaks.

(And that empty space on the board is really bugging my OCD!)

  2. Someone pointed me at a power supply that'll potentially deliver what I need.

Does anyone have experience of running either a HX Stomp or HX Effects at 900ma.  I know products like the Cioks DC7 would deliver 1000 but I'd be getting 900 out of this one.

  3. Just to finish off this thread - if for no other reason than to post a pedalboard pic!

This is what I've ended up with.  Sounds really good and overall I'm very happy (the compressor especially)

    - but -

I can't let go of the part of me that feels this preamp/wireless tied to an HX Effects would have been the perfect hybrid rig for me.  Just couldn't find a power supply to do the job.  So this is the board for the Sweden tour in a few weeks!

  4. ** Head No Longer Available **

** Looking for £975 for the cab **

Looking to shake things up a bit, so I'm putting up for sale my trusty Aguilar TH500 bass amp paired with the Aguilar SL410x cabinet (4 Ohm). This workhorse rig has served me well but is ready for a new home.

The cab tolex could use a little cleaning and there's a minor scratch on the top of the Tone Hammer. However, it still delivers that incredible, powerful sound that Aguilar is known for. Plus, it's all housed in a lightweight setup that's never let me down.

If you're interested, feel free to reach out, and I can provide more detailed photos and videos to show everything in action. I'm also open to splitting the set, and I'll even throw in a case (not a flight case) for the head and a unique snakeskin cover that my wife made for the cab.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to take your bass rig to the next level. Get in touch today!

  5. Hi All - I have a T Rex classic power supply and don't have the 2.5mm to 2.5mm cable I now need.  Think it's the blue one if anyone has that supply...

Long shot but does anyone have one I could buy off them!

    Thanks

    Pat

As you say, the T Rex Classic looks like it's limited to a total of 500mA DC.

The Cioks AC10 might do the job - https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/b-stock/product/1204643/b-stock-cioks-ac10-ac-dc-effects-pedal-multi-power-supply In my experience of trying assorted power supplies with the HX Stomp, if it gets insufficient power, you know about it straight away as it won't even complete starting up.

Thanks - I've decided to change route and I'm putting together a small board rather than using a Stomp setup - going to more straightforward

  7. No worries, appreciate any and all input 👍

I’ve got a nordstrand starlifter which takes 12-15 volt AC which makes life interesting.   I’m not a heavy effects user so whilst a line 6 thing would cover a lot of ground and keep things small I think I’m going to keep it simple and go single pedals…

    I recently got this

    https://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_spaceship_power_50m.htm

    They come in multiple sizes.

Power supply built into board. Plenty of ports including a couple of switchable 9/12/18 and modt importantly, one 3Amp port which will easily power an stomp or other line 6 product.

I think a few of the harley benton power supplies have the same features.

You would need some rockboard adapters for the line6 product.

Thanks for your thoughts.  Isn't this another Power Supply without a 12V AC output?  I have a DI that needs that as well as looking to power a Stomp/HX Effects.

  9. Hey everyone,

I've been more of a lurker around here lately.

I'm in the process of assembling a board for an upcoming tour. I've got a DI that requires 12v AC, and I'm also considering getting a Stomp or HX Effects, which, as you probably know, comes with its own set of power requirements. Any suggestions on a power supply that can handle both of these?

From what I've dug up in my research so far, it seems like I might end up back at square one with individual pedals.

I had my eye on the T Rex Classic - it covers the AC need and can double up on 2 of the DC outputs. But as far as I can tell, the DC outputs are 500mA shared across the 9 outputs, rather than 500mA each, which I believe the Line 6 gear needs.

    Thanks,
    Pat

  10. Advertised on FB but thought I'd try here as well!

Bar a small tear on the front of the packing box, everything here is immaculate!  Hopefully the photos show this but if you want any more just ask.

Including the case and the very useful Bluetooth module this sale includes everything to get you going!

Including all the packing materials this phenomenal and under-rated modelling unit is available just in time for Christmas! 😁

According to Andertons you can pick this lot up for £590 new, so £450 the lot is a bargain IMHO...  - Now down to £390

Selling as my needs have changed and I'm going for a simpler setup just don't need all that this unit gives me.

Collection is preferred but can post if required at buyers expense. Any questions do let me know.

Amp modelling is good to have, something like the HX Stomp or Stomp XL might be a good option if you use loads of effects. If you're after a "core" sound and up to 3 effects, then think about a Pod Go.

I do think that you'd definitely need to reconsider the HX FX if you like your amp setup.

I have an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 and an SL410X cab which has served me really well.

I don't really fancy the Stomp or XL TBH.  The XL is £100 more expensive than the Boss GX-100.

I also don't want to get bogged down by hundreds of amps and mic combinations.  The Boss has 3 good amps and several cabs - that'll be enough for me.

Think I've thought enough and just need to bite the bullet and get one!

If you really liked the HX FX, then why not get another?

At least you know what you can do with it.

I know, bad experience with one unit can make you wary, but if it works for you, it works for you.

    Just a thought.

Its a very fair point and one I've really thought about - it does do pretty much everything I need.

1 - Just thinking a change may be nice

2 - Amp modelling abilities for not much more money could be fun and give options
