  1. Happy to consider cash offers! I've decided that I'm not interested in trading as I have something in particular in my sights, thanks.

A bit of an unusual one! I bought this bass made from high quality parts from the Bass Gallery for just shy of £800 (in old money 😆) last year: https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/shaker-neck-jazz-bass-body

EDIT: Full specs according to the original owner, @77Bass. Thanks Craig!

    - Shuker Custom Neck - 33” scale, rock maple, satin finish (slightly worn), 2mm side dots, carbon fibre reinforcement, two way truss rod, spalt rosewood fingerboard, flat radius, slight asymmetric carve, medium, Stainless Steel Frets

    - 38.5mm Graphite Nut

    - Hipshot D-Tuner

    - Fender Jazz Body

    - 2 x Di Marzio DP 149 Ultra Jazz Pickups (hum-cancelling)

    - Pickups Mounted In Adjustable Rosewood Ramp (flat radius/profile to match the fingerboard)

    - Babicz FCH Bridge

    - Weight: I don't have a scale unfortunately. It feels like an average jazz, I'd say on the lighter side of average. Definitely not a heavy bass.

    - Overall condition: obviously relic'ed, but this is only cosmetic. No structural issues, everything is solid. The bass stays in tune well by experience.

Collection in Cambridge preferred. I'm also in North London fairly often. Shipping is possible but there is no case with this bass.

    Thanks!

  2. Well, it's been a journey. I bought this bass new from the Bass Gallery in London about a year ago. Loved it, still do. I couldn't sell another bass at the time needed to pay for it, so I ended up selling it to another stand-up basschatter to cover by bills. I missed it, and recently he very kindly sold it back to me. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, my wife got a job back in Canada (where we're from) and we have to up and move! As such, I'm selling most of my stuff to lighten the load/make some extra money for the move. I'll be sad to say goodbye for real to this beauty, but it's the right thing to do!

This Wilcock 51 short scale bass looks and sounds the part. It's the very same bass in the demos online, as well as the bass listed on Viv's website (www.wilcocklondon.com). These basses are made in London and played by industry leaders like Brandon Boone, Tim Lefebvre, Rob Mullarkey, Dave Swift and more. Bit of a wait to get one of these nowadays...

    - Ash body

    - Flame maple neck

    - Rosewood fingerboard

    - Sunbear 51 pickup

    - Hipshot hardware

    - 30" scale length (short scale)

    - Comes with a great bag, extra strings and strap locks

Given the circumstances, no trades please! Price is also firm. Collection in London preferred, shipping within the UK possible.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  3. EDIT: After 2 trade offers that I declined in favour of a cash offer that fell through, I've realised that I'm really just looking for a cash sale on this one. No beating around the bush: my best and final price is £1600 plus shipping. This is an exceptional deal, especially considering the these bespoke basses usually come with long lead times and import fees/headaches. Thanks for no lower offers!

I've enjoyed this Serek immensely in the couple of months since I bought it from Embra. It's a lovely bass, and if you're in the market for this sort of thing you won't be disappointed. Of course, one has to be realistic, and the truth is that I don't really have much time to play bass these days, making it hard to justify having such a beauty in my possession.

Specs are below. It's in near-immaculate condition with only one tiny, barely-visible ding on the back (pictured).

Comes with strap locks and a Serek gig bag. Collection in London preferred, though if you need me to ship I'll do my best to protect it as much as possible.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  4. Bought my HA-2 new only a few months ago but need to move it along as I need the money. Works perfectly in all instances and is a very handy tool. In great condition other than a cosmetic knick on the top of the housing (d'oh!). No box unfortunately but comes with velvet bag and cables. £200 including shipping within UK, insurance and international shipping extra.

"The HA-2 is the second model in the Bighead series and is a step up model of the popular HA-1 Bighead with added technology and features. The HA-2 is a high resolution USB audio interface that supports PCM playback with up to 384 KHz sample rate/24 bit resolution. On DSD playback, sample rates of 2.822MHzand 5.644 MHz are supported, making it the ideal choice for musicians and engineers that desire high performance and the purest sound quality.

It is a rechargeable lithium ion dynamo that is ideal for use in practice or recording situations. It also functions as a headphone booster amp as well as a preamp to drive powered amplifiers. The HA-2 has both passive and active instrument inputs with a 2 band EQ that is ideal for guitar and bass, yet versatile enough for use with other instruments.

It has an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is fed by its USB jack, so any computer or appropriate cell phone charger can charge it in less than 3 hours, but it can play for up to 8 hours."

  5. Looking to sell my lovely Stingray Special 4HH in mint condition with the OHSC. Got this in a trade but really just need the money. Very light, but most importantly in my eyes it balances perfectly both on the knee and on the strap. Very resonant bass with lots of lovely tones. Roasted maple neck with rolled frets. Very flexible and versatile, a real professional’s tool. Did I mention that it’s as-new? This bass really deserves a true stingray fan to do it justice!

    Price includes shipping, insurance extra.

  6. Well, here we are. I wasn't planning on putting this up for sale. When I bought it I was planning to finance it with the sale of my Moollon J, though as I (somehow) haven't been able to shift it I've decided to put this sweet bass on the market for this weekend only as a feeler. If it doesn't sell, I'll take it down and stick with plan A. Or, you can buy my Moollon instead :)

£1500 shipped in the UK (insurance extra). Ask about EU shipping.

Handmade by Viv Wilcock in London, sold through the Bass Gallery. Listed at £1750.

    - Flame Maple Neck

    - Dark rosewood fingerboard

    - Black stained swamp ash body

    - 30" short scale

    - Just over 7lbs

    - Black hipshot hardware

    - Sunbear 51 pickup

    - Passive controls (volume, tone)

    - Strung with TI flats

    - Can throw in some brand-new DR Short Scale Sunbeams to sweeten the deal.

    - Comes with an excellent gator case and straplocks.

I can take better photos later this weekend if needed. Here is the exact bass:

Were you sold this bass knowing that it was a prototype?

I bought it used. No, I didn’t know at the time, not sure the seller did, either.

Beautiful. Not sure about the slot head screws in the bridge though...

Easily changed! I prefer slot screws myself as Philips always seem to get stripped.

  9. What can I say about Moollon that hasn't already been said... hand-built, sought-after, year-long waiting period to order new. It looks and feels like an early '60s Jazz bass, from the wiring to the beautifully ageing nitro finish to the hand-wound pickups (natural wear, the bass was made for NAMM 2012). This particular bass is a lightweight (under 4kg) swamp ash body with a maple neck. It's loud acoustically with a very resonant body. It's got excellent sustain across the fretboard. Frets are in great shape.

Moollon basses are played extensively by Tim Lefebvre (Tedeschi Trucks band, David Bowie, etc.), Michael League (Snarky Puppy, etc.), Kevin Scott (Forq, etc.) and many more.

Comes with a hard case. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Based in North London. Open to trades. Thanks for looking.
