Indeed I did. Took a few moments to 'get in there' (you had to be there..?), but it builds up wonderfully, prodded along by the two other 'culprits' aiding and abetting. I presume that there's some warming up involved before launching into such pyrotechnics..? It seems that the audience, too, were mesmerised, to judge from the respectful silence on closure where a roar of applause is due. Altogether splendid stuff; congratulations to all concerned, and thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Glad you liked it
Yeah, the audience was quite reserved at points but then at other bits they clapping and whooping and seemed well up for it. Oh well, maybe I just need to try to get more notes into my solo next time? -
Hi folks, here's a bass solo from a gig in Japan with my band Preston Glasgow Lowe. Hope you enjoy it!

I've been listening to this one a lot recently. It's got a mega groove! I love the way he uses those harmonics, super funky!
Huge fan of HH - this is one of my favourites. Funnily enough I have previously posted this in funk thread and was told that it is not funk! Just goes to show how different perceptions are:
What a groove! I need to go back and check that album out again. -
Hi folks, here's another little solo video. This time it's an improvisation on the jazz standard Cherokee. Hope you enjoy it!

I've recorded a couple of other solo pieces, including this arrangement of Star of County Down, a tune I have always loved, and have arranged in a variety of ways. Here it is in my recent solo bass arrangement

Cracking stuff, Kev! I used to love playing this song with my old jazz band - though I was certainly never doing anything that impressive with the bass part!

I saw this guy play last night with Billy Cobham. Monster player!! Really interesting approach and quite a unique sound (I think he's using flat wound strings).
Here's a video of him doing his solo thing (pretty scary right hand chops!).

Outstanding, lovely tone (as usual, Kevin).
On another note, I like the way you are hanging your washing out to dry on your fretboard, as you are playing.
Great multi tasking.

Thanks Lowdown!
Hehe yeah, I reckon I could probably fit a few more pairs of socks on there, or maybe a pair of underpants! It might help the tone! -

That's brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed that !

I use the legato technique (mainly for soloing). I use a very light set of strings which makes things much easier, although it takes some getting used to as you need to play very delicately with your right hand.
