I know it's a longshot, but does anyone out there have a reliable (i.e. genuine or a photocopy of a ...) Gordy Blueshift bass wiring diagram? I bought the bass new directly from Gordon Whittam back around 1984, and it's been around a bit now. It was stolen for a while (30 years ago), recovered and the electrics were damaged. I managed to get it repaired at the time, but it has never really sounded right. And now I am back playing again, the electrics are playing up, look really shabby and could do with replacing. I am quite competent with wiring, but not familiar with the way in which this particular bass is wired, having two volume controls, one tone and two three-way switches. I'd quite like to get it back to the original configuration if possible. If anyone could help with a diagram, that would be grand.

I know this is an old thread, but that Gordy explorer bass is identical to one I used to own back in the early eighties, when I lived in south Manchester. It was made for me by Gordon Whittam, who was the founder of Gordy instruments and who had a workshop in Altrincham. He also made me one of his early blueshift fretless basses, which I still have.

Who owns Gordy and Gordon Smith basses?

Just looking at it again, I'm pretty sure it's the same bass! I don't recall Gordon making more than one fretless explorer like this!
