I play 5, 8, and 10 string basses.

My worst gig … 

I was playing in a blues band and we had a gig lined up at a dive bar and we had played there before and it was not too bad. The bar changed management and scared off all of the regulars. We showed up and started loading in the bartender told us there was no band tonight and we showed her the flier on the wall right in front of her. So we load in set up and start playing. At this point there are 3 people on stage and one bartender and one customer. Neither the bartender or the customer want to hear a blues band and they tell us they would rather listen to the juke box. 

So we packed up and left never to come back

This is my Mouradian style 5 string bass … maple Body, wired like a Rickenbacker, 

I like Billy's playing ... he does sometimes play too many notes and use too many effects .... but that is part of his appeal and charm

The 5 string Rics you've modified are awesome.  I had a 4001 in the 70's (black with the rare cheqeured binding.....) which I regret selling ...hence my handle on this forum

Actually 1 truss rod works fine ... a cheap Chinese neck that holds up fine 

I have 15 basses ... all 5 stringers ... not a single one is stock
